I love how you TOTALLY READ what is being said and don't just jump too "HEALERZ R 2 DPS OBSESSED N DONT HEAL ME WHEN I AM IN DPS STANCE!" bs.
Please point out the part where I blamed this healer for causing the wipe with their dps. I don't mind, I'll wait.
Teasing aside, I haven't actually leveraged blame at either TC or the party they were with, as I have but one side of the story to judge, rather than the complete picture. I do wonder if you actually read what I said.
I've had a couple randoms tell me I'm not soloing and to get CS off Now. *laughs* I'm in the very early stages of learning to add a bit of dps and I generally add my damage when nothing is going on. The fact that someone panicked about CS when the party was at full health on trash was actually kind of amusing. Of course in group content I try to give people what they want (if it's within my capabilities) so that ended that practice. But I'm certainly not about to take that as a general request from the community.
You should have gotten yourself "accidentally" locked out from the fight so you could have watched the world burn. :P Then perhaps could have continued with the party appreciating you much more...
I really don't think you have an obligation to start playing badly even when asked.![]()
Devil's advocate:
I read this more like:
Stop barking orders.
Add more healing behind your DPS.
To be fair, the tank can't possibly know your skill level and it's easy to say "the tank over pulled" vs "I couldn't handle it"
Granted, this bard seemed pretty petty.
To be perfectly honest. Before the dungeon begins, it would be in the tank's best interest to examine everyone in the party. Especially the healer. And see if they have the gear for large pulls. If they do, fine. Go and pull largely. If not, pull smaller. Do not stress your healer out making things uncomfortable.
And about the Bard. Don't worry. Even at level 60 content, a lot of bards get salty if they have Foe's up and the healer is out DPSing them. XD It's quite hilarious.
Anyways, just keep DPSing, and playing how you desire.
I was told this at one point when I started tanking, and have since stopped doing it. It is not very effective.
ilvl is not an indication of how your party will perform.
This reminds me of a time when I finally got to leveling my SCH, ran the Aery fully decked out in Orthodox gear, dpsed as normal everything is fine till
all of sudden our SMN tells me to stop dpsing. I asked why? Everything was smooth before the 1st boss, his reason was my dps was crap and he couldn't focus on
his dots as appearently I was screwing his rotation, since im on PS4 i type back whatever and continued as usual until we hit the 1st boss I noticed dps was slow, the SMN
kept casting Ruin and only Ruin. After the boss the SMN pointed how long it took if I continued to dps he wont do crap, so as a lesson I counter argued with him and put
a vote kick in hopes party would deny and keep his petty mouth shut but surprisingly they kicked him
Guys, I'd think we would have learned to ignore Thunda_cat by now...
I'm torn on this. I know it'll just cause an argument if you don't do what they ask, but I think the best choice here is to just reasure them that you're paying attention and aren't going to let them die just because you're DPSing. Don't stop practicing bc people panic!
Bahaha, I had better uses for my time, quite honestly. Also, iirc locking yourself out of a battle on purpose can be considered griefing, so I'd rather not! The only time I have locked myself out was when I was attacked by a flying cockroach IRL and had to go swat it, lmao. I DID SAY BRB, THO.
1 or 2 wipes I'll keep quiet and try to see what is going wrong before adding my input... I keep it civil in game even if I'm swearing the air black irl... always encourage never discourage
