I read it from an old post but turn out I was wrong: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...l=1#post490835
But that's old (1.0 lore), so perhaps was change, I don't know. I will keep looking and edit this post anyway.

I'd like to know this as well. Given the race poll they gave out before 2.0 came out listed hybrid races as one of the options, it seems to me this hasn't been explicitly stated one way or the other in lore.Source? I'm not at home to look it up, but I'm pretty sure we've been told precisely the opposite of that in the lore forum? I might be misremembering, but I could swear the official line was that crossbreads were perfectly possible, but rare.
Their lack of presence in game is the same reason we never saw a half Elezen till Hilda or a Mi'qitten till the one in Mor'dona. It's not important enough until the need arises to show them. Until they are ready, the model isn't in game so there is nothing to sprinkle them around with.
As for people worrying about adding childlike races to the game. Please, stop projecting. ERPer's exist and will always exist and nothing you, me, or anyone does is going to stop them from their ERPing. They are a very small fraction of the community and as such design decisions should not be made around them.
Look I'll be frank. Being 100% unrepentantly judgemental here, ERPer's are fricking weird, their ERP is full of cringe, and I wouldn't mind at all if they all suddenly vanished. However, they are not hard to ignore/block and their actions don't actually hurt anyone. So why bend over backwards to mildly inconvenience them?

And then you found yourself on the creepy side of balmung...

Their actions most certainly do hurt people. Any proliferation of child pornography is harmful, including animated or simply verbal roleplay. It encourages and emboldens offenders and increases the likelihood of them physically or mentally harming an actual child.

Alternatively, it gives them a form of release that is not harmful to REAL children. I'd much rather these folks fap to their kiddie toons than abduct a real child. I seriously doubt animated child porn is going to increase the likelihood that a pedo crosses the line, more than the frustration of having NO safe outlets does.
Regardless, other points still stand; it harms the company image as a whole to be associated with things like this. Let the proto-pedos find their safe release elsewhere. Japan has a smorgasbord available!
Got some sauce with that?
Yes please and thank you :3
Alphinauds body is a good middle ground. Not to young not to old... and still old enough to get beat down in cutscenes.
I said lalaqotes, not children. There, problem solved. It should be pretty obvious why SE doesnt allow us to make children-characters... There are people out there who'd do nasty things with those and I'm pretty sure SE doesnt want to see that in their game (for pretty good reasons). Lalafells are already a stretch and they're rather careful not to sexualize them to much

That's nothing more than semantics. Yes, technically Lalafells aren't children... but they look like children. That's why they go out of their way to sexualize lalafells as little as possible.
It's the same problem that TERA has... the Elin are quite obviously children and to make it worse are rather sexualized. Yet they think just saying, "No, no, no, they aren't children. They're hundreds of years old!" makes it perfectly fine. It doesn't.
