    Mail Question

    Hello,

As a bit of a preamble into my question.. I'm good at making gil, but horrible at saving gil. So, i've been starting to give my SO most of the gil that i make off the market board, so i don't spend it on mats 'cause i suddenly got lazy again.

My question is.. is it going to set off any flags that i'd send her sums of gil to put aside for us? I may just be a paranoid, but i figured i'd post the question anyway.

(I know SQE won't answer this, but i have to hope that at least somebody else has at least known someone that has done this.)

Why not use a retainer to stick your gil in, like a bank. It won't be on your person, so kind of like out of sight out of mind. That's what I do. I do not know if there are any flags for that though.

SQE can see the IPs of where you log. if you and your SO are on the same network at any time or are on the same IP block (living nearby with the same ISP) it shouldn't throw a red flag at all.

If you and your SO in different parts of the world and the Gil just sits there, it shouldn't raise a red flag either. Now, if your SO sends it off to a third party, it might raise a flag for investigation...

I may end up trying that. I think you're right there's no flags for storing gil, at least none that would make it seem like i'm doing something wrong; not that i am, but i don't know how sensitive SQE is about gil flowing through the mail.

Our IPs shouldn't bounce around, we just log in from home 'n no where else.
She's not the type to send off the gil to someone else either; we're trying to save enough for the new housing. :P

Yeah, I was just stating if both accounts have the same IP in the "IP log" of the accounts, then it is assumed you probably know each other well and money trading and such won't raise a flag as hard as let's say you sending Gil to someone random 1,000 miles away.

Edit: for example, an RL friend of mine comes over to LAN at my place some nights (his net is wifi only and I have a faster ISP) so some of our IP logs match us being in the same house at the same time, so If I sent him a huge chunk of change, it wouldn't throw up a red flag compared to me sending it to someone across the country.

Sorry, didn't really understand at first, was gonna delete it when i realized i didn't reply correctly, but then you replied to it.. so i had to put it back in. >.>
There is a bit of distance between us, so perhaps i should be safer than sorry and store it on a retainer? (i suppose my biggest fear is that they won't talk to me to verify anything, i have no idea how their investigation process works :P)

I am sure the server logs who you party with, and I assume you two party a lot when playing? if so, no issue as they would know you two know each other pretty well.

Honestly, we spend more time with each other on game than we do unpartied. We're essentially one of "those" couples in the game.

Then yeah, I wouldn't worry about it, most RMT algorithms tkae out people who party on a consistent basis as it would know the money being sent back and forth is mutual and understandable.
