Can we see the future with echo? I thought we could only see the past. I think we are going to Ala Migho first and get nearly destroyed. This will send us scattering to Doma for help. I only think this because every video shows us taking this route and they said liberating Ala Migho is going to take work. Level 63 is plenty of time if you take HW into mind. At 53 we were already in Dravania. We had seen Ishgard, WCH, and Cloud top in those 3 levels. (Sorry I know I spelled the areas wrong)

Having finally gotten the chance to watch it in Japanese, I'm pretty certain that - totally aside from the usual localization liberties - at least two lines are spoken by entirely different characters between it and the English version. Gosetsu's line about causes and battlefields is definitely occupied by a different character in Japanese, and I'm fairly certain the final line of the trailer is a different one as well. Is anybody whose Japanese is more at the FFXIV level able to give us a comparative analysis?

Line about causes and battlefields is more or less the same, but spoken by Alphinaud, not Gosetsu. Safe to say he won't be going anywhere, even if the trailers try to throw us off.

Final line is still Zenos, except it's more along the lines of "I have no use for the weak but as fodder for my blade. Let me see you withstand my [mumblemumble]." Acting a little too hard there, Kousuke Toriumi.

I really hope that there is some good reason for us to loose against Zenos other than "plot demands it". Yes we often go against primals and have an advantage thanks to the echo but the only thing it does is protecting us from the tempering.

Primals aren't THAT tough. Remember that a band of ordinary NPC heroes (Brayflox and all them) were able to take down Titan. The main difference is that such heroes do so at extremely high personal risk, due to the possibility (inevitability, if the fight goes on long enough) of being tempered. I think it's likely that Zenos could easily take down Primals if he tried, but the risk of his becoming tempered in the process is just too high. Strong as the WoL is, there are still folks out there just as strong or stronger.

Finally got to hear zenos' voice and I definitely liked it, it was well acted. But that quote got me like thinking, he says "only man had the wisdom and clarity to enjoy violence for its own sake." It really got me thinking, games nowadays really demonize people who enjoy killing others just to watch them die.

I just don't get it. After seeing Zenos and hearing what he had to say, not gonna lie, I really like the cut of his jib.

That was me being facetious by the way.

In a way this reflects the nature of some people in the world and video gamers as there are people out there who only enjoy violence just for the sake of violence.

Heck some players for this game only plays FF14 for the sake of reach Endgame and to just kill things while skipping and ignoring all the cutscene/story/lore aspect of the game and have zero knowledge about what is going on in this game storyline because the only thing that matters to them in the end is to reach the end and mindlessly kill endgame bosses without knowing why they are doing this lore wise in the game.

FPS games are the greatest example of Violence for the sake of violence as that is why people play FPS for being "violence for the sake of violence" in multiplayer.

Can we see the future with echo?

If I remember right Minfillia was able to see into the future. Not far future to my understanding but if that part when Zenos just curbstomps everyone is a future Echo vision Minfillia probably could have seen it if she were around right now. Its possible we have that same power just that it doesn't activate nearly as much as being able to see the past. That said it probably isn't an Echo thing but us actually getting our butts kicked.

Near the end of the video you will see a brief shot of a Dragoon. You don't see his head but the most prominent non-WoL Dragoon is Estinien...and the promotional WoL is no longer a Dragoon.

I am still of the opinion that it would be totally awesome if Estinien joined the Scions. There's my speculation/hope for 4.0. :P

I hope they don't start using the Echo to 'warn' us of what could happen if the antagonists succeed. I want the antagonists to actually succeed, at least temporarily, otherwise it'd just feel very much like a cop out. It's also another 'X died, but not really' moment along the lines of what we saw with Nanamo and to a lesser extent, Aymeric. Besides, the Echo doesn't need to be powered up further. The Warrior of Light is already ridiculously powerful with many plot conveniences at his disposal. Does he really need more?

It'd be far more satisfying if the Ala Mhigan Resistance and Eorzean Alliance became too cocky, tried to assault Ala Mhigo and then ended up being beaten back. At that point, they'd cut their losses, flee and regroup elsewhere - leading to a trip to Othard either to meet up with Yugiri once more or to follow a lead in regards to Zenos. A lot of stuff would happen in Othard, then eventually they'd return to Gyr Abania and gradually push into Ala Mhigo.

That doesn't really discount them from being absurdly powerful, legendary weaponst.

He could've just ordered his men to bring him the very best katanas Othard has to offer after he decided he wanted them as his weapon of choice.
