Anyway. Since the Heavensward launch trailer showed to about the end of the first act of the expansion, I'd wager this does as well. It seems quite simple - we go to retake Ala Mhigo, and things are going well... until Zenos and Fordola step onto the field and crush everyone (the former moreso than the latter). Y'shtola will be grievously wounded by Zenos (or die for emotional torque, though that seems unlikely), after which we beat a hasty retreat thanks to him kicking both Lyse and our own asses as well. We then learn we need to go to Doma, perhaps to discover the source of Zenos' monstrous strength and to find a way to combat it, and naturally come into conflict with Yotsuyu before heading to the Azim Steppe and searching for Hien to get his support, then begin the war to liberate Othard in earnest. Beyond that, I can't guess, but since Shisui of the Violet Tides is an Lv63 dungeon, we have to be going to Doma / Kugane pretty early.

Fordola continues to intrigue me. Remember we're fighting the XIIth Legion... and there was a very important character in XII that was falsely accused of being a traitor and kingslayer... I wonder...

As for the Blessing not powering us up against Zenos... Ysayle lightly implied that unless we're up against a superhuman foe (i.e. Primals, Ascians, superweapons like Ultima Weapon) we don't have it active. That said, we were bereft of said Blessing and still took down the likes of Nabriales (who was able to bend freakin' time), so... yeah, Zenos probably has some monstrous power booster we're going to need to find a way to nullify.

As for the Ascians being involved, it was said they are going to have a background presence this time instead of stepping to the forefront. The entire point of what they do is that with just a little nudge human nature will take care of the rest for them - they probably nudged Solus zos Galvus into the "eternal conquest" mentality Garlemald adopted in its transition to an Empire, then sat back to watch the sparks fly. That's also part of what makes our mission nigh impossible - human nature cannot be changed.

Is that Dadaluma in the first fight? The last boss of zozo tower(ff6). Actually alot of the monsters I've seen in these trailers I remember from ff6... great start considering 6 is my favorite (outside of 14 of course)

As a side comment from other things people have posted here and in the Revolutions Hype thread... does anyone else not get some FFT feels from Zenos having multiple katanas as samurai? It immediately made me think of blade swapping and possibly blade sacrifice from shattering for use of special abilities. Although... he gets a fancy revolver style holder.

lots of spoilers, I am guessing some not good things will happen to the scions and it will be up to the WOL and the woman in red to lead the resistance, and replacing the scions will be new scions that we meet in Ala Mhigo

Yoshida did something a few months back about expecting some main characters to die during the 4.0 expansion (across all the patches). Plus Estinien returning? I can totally see them killing off Y'shtola and then having Estinien join the Scions. Afterall Krile replaced Minfilia and Alisae replaced Papalymo (I'm talking numbers here).

I can see them slowly removing the original Scions one by one and building a new Scions of the Seventh dawn.

I mean they could at least give us some credit after all we have come so far from ARR to Heavensward...those are fighting experiences that we have gained over the years..

I'm not saying we should be overpowered but at least able to hold our own and maybe protect our friends.

Well from how they described Zenos, he is basically the Lu Bu of the Garlean Empire. Powerful and has a strong reputation for being a complete beast/monster on the battlefield along with a love for always being at the heart of battles just for the thrills.

Of course you know why you should never pursue Lu Bu.

For the WoL, he or she is finally meeting that person after being unstoppable for so long when the only times WoL is defeated it is because a group of people worked together against him or her. However, here the WoL is meeting someone strong enough to not require the help of others to defeat the WoL.

Zenos does not need neither trickery nor numbers to defeat the WoL like the other people in the past. He knows he is stronger and face the WoL head on where anyone else who done so would be defeated or struggle to the point they must ask for aid in the middle of the battle from others.

In a way it shows how small the the WoL view of the world has been as well since now he or she is facing someone that has done the impossible by himself being to bring the WoL to his or her knees without much effort. Until now no one has been able to do this by themselves which lead to other treating the WoL as their champion for all World Threat solutions since countless people think the WoL can't be beaten easily by one person unless they bring a Army with them since the WoL is a "God" Slayer. Heck the Warriors of Darkness had to work in numbers as a team to defeat a Primal where the WoL, lore wise, defeated a Primal by him or herself thus showing that the WoL is equal to power of the Warriors of Darkness working together.

People's reactions to how easily the WoL is defeated by Zenos basically reflects on the same belief the people of Eorzea see the WoL as. A person that can never be easily defeated and no one can be stronger than the WoL but that is also a interesting topic of the storyline which we see reflected at the end of 3.0 when Thordan became fearful of the WoL due to how he defeated what is basically a God. It brings up the question "Is the WoL really at the peak of power or are there people far stronger than the WoL in the world?"

Honestly I don't think the power gap will be that huge but I think we may underestimate him and I do think he has some form of power. Yoshi P said at the first fanfest we would 'learn how to fight him'. That suggests that we cant just directly but heads. I suspect there is a power he has access too. Hell, maybe his swords are a form of Auracite.....

Regardless he is definitely on the WoL's level which is where he needs to be. He isn't going to be a push over and the WoL is going to have to step up if he is going to be able to take Zenos.

I still get kinslayer vibes from him and I kind of still have a feeling he might kill his father. Still we have yet to see Varis so maybe he wont be involved.
