Script error when running from USB

I've just copied my installation to a USB stick so I can run it on my work computer. When I launch ffxivboot.exe I get this error

'An error has occurred in the script on this page
    Line: 20
    Char: 2
    Error: 'Global' is undefined
    Code: 0
    URL: http://frontier.ffxiv.com/version_3_1_win/index.html?
    rc_lang=en&time=2017-06-07-13

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

    Yes No

Whether I click yes or no, I get a blank version of the launcher window and can't proceed any further. It may be worth noting that when I close the window, I get a prompt asking "Exit FINAL FANTASY XIV?", which tells me the launcher is running, but the script error is stopping it from displaying the web content. Any help would be appreciated.

    More info

After reading some more, I think I've figured out what the problem is. I tried browsing to the URL I posted and I get a page that says 'Due to ongoing maintenance, this page is currently unavailable. Please try again later'. I tried browsing to another similar link in another thread, and it was blocked by my employers firewall because it falls under the category of games. I figure it's one or the other issue causing my problem.

Is there a way to log in without using html traffic? Another type of launcher perhaps?

Yer probably out of luck. Even if there was a solution, it'd be quite complicated. IDK about FFXIV but most apps and games, you cant simply just copy the install folder to another computer and it work, because the install creates registry entries in windows that are not copied by simply doing this.

Your employer probably has a firewall set up with their network hub or router that will block the ports needed to play the game.

And if you COULD actually get it to work, I'd imagine it would run like poo, if even at all with the files on a USB stick instead of the internal storage because of the extremely slow access to a USB stick, and on top of that, if the work PC doesn't have a dedicated GPU, it would, for the most part, not be playable, and very slow and choppy. The only real IGPU that can even begin to handle FFXIV is an APU processor from AMD.

Anybody feel free to chime in if I'm wrong.

I've always moved FF between computers and drives without issue, but I've never tried playing from a USB flash drive. A quick google about it says it does work okay with a decent 3.0 one, though. The launcher uses internet explorer, so you might have to try updating or reinstalling it on your work computer and clearing the cache etc. Try searching this tech support forum for more information about internet explorer related issues.

I tried using it on two other machines on my home network, one of which had FFXIV installed on it. They both worked. I have to assume that it's the company firewall blocking it. All I wanted to do was mine a little on my lunch. I guess I'm sol, booourns.
