Using Heavensward disc, Stormblood digital? What happens?

Hello all,

I original bought FFXIV: ARR on PS3 on disc when it first launched, then when PS4 came out, I upgraded my license and was able to play digitally without disc, but then I bought the Heavensward expansion on disc, but was no longer able to play the game digitally even though it doesn't need it since it's all digital licensing.

My concern is, what happens if I buy the Stormblood expansion digitally on the PSN? Will I need to keep using my Heavensward disc as the 'Need FFXIV: ARR to play expansion.' or will I be able to play digitally again (I hope so!) without a disc of the previous expansion?

somebody posted that if you delete your game. install the demo and then sign in it will update and you won't need the disc.

you could try that now since your account on squeenix's side should already show HW.

Cool, thanks man! I'm going to try that out tomorrow since I want to get some game time (only like 2 hours since I came from work late).
