Also to this SE is gonna use Unreal for some of their new games.ive said this a thousand times over. they are too prideful in this field. why not just use the most uber game engines already in place?
itd cut down costs (whats going now is non arguable proof of that), cut down on time to develop for and itd be easier to port to other platforms /coughPS3cough
they havent put out very many games that have been able to match the success of many other games for many years now yet they think they can just whip up what they think is a god engine? SE is so absurd some times.
i read in an interview about 6 months before FFXIV hit alpha that the white engine (the original name for crystal tools) was actually modeled after the unreal engine, only heavily modified. so its funny to me how they not only didnt make their engine from complete scratch but that they failed at building off of an existing one. (FFXIIIs zone limitations is proof of that)
whats worse is FF VERSUS has just started full production about a month or two back even though the game has been in development for what...5 years now?
FFXIII-2 is created off of time and resources wasted on making the first one. "we had so many zones, monsters and concepts that we spent much time creating left over from FFXIII that we figured, why not just use those to make a sequel?" thats kind of a massive red flag to me.
i swear to god if i was a billionaire id hire my team and my game would be:
gorgeous, both characters and zones (as every game should be)
seamless open world (which FFXIV currently isnt and will not be in the future)
filled with voiced cut scenes
realistic yet fantasy looking armour and weapons
tons of amazing spells. half of which just look different than others to suit your aesthetic play style!
NPC buddy systems... ugh the list goes on
no MMO satisfies me and i dont think any ever will...
15 abilities each? what is this... Kindergarten?A jack of all trades WHM... what is this 1989?
