I'd rather them sort their shit out. I have never seen a game that has had such a consistency in delays due to bugs.I believe it was stated end of nov early dec... then they said it would be delayed and would be coming the 14... now they found a pretty bad bug from the sounds of it... would you rather a delay to fix said bug and get a good patch out or just push the patch out with the bug and hope for the best?

it's because u never seen a game with dateline laid out for you 2 year before......... other company would simply keep it quiet until they finish the patches then announces maintenance date and you would never know if they delayed the patch or behind schedule because players are not expecting when it will come. Logic, can you have it?

When you've lost your client's trust, the last thing you want to do is give them empty promises.
Every patch is like this, if it were just this one off time, it wouldn't be an issue.
Theres only so much delay's/empty promises people are going to endure before they grow impatient.
um empty promises? Did they promise you something?A game has never gone under such severe repair as this one.

It's not like we set the timeline. No one but Square Enix is in charge of it. There's no reason for them to set deadlines they can't meet. Back when they decided to do all of this a year ago, they should have planned it so that they were working a patch ahead of themselves. So that way when they release 1.19, they're actually finishing 1.20.it's because u never seen a game with dateline laid out for you 2 year before......... other company would simply keep it quiet until they finish the patches then announces maintenance date and you would never know if they delayed the patch or behind schedule because players are not expecting when it will come. That's why people get so annoyed at these constant delays. It's SE who decides when they should be released, and no one else. They should be able to meet their own deadlines. If they were smart, they'd have said 1.20 was coming at the end of December from the start. That way when they deliver it around the 16th, they look like heroes.
In most cases you would be right. Just not this time. This team is doing 2 major projects at once. They are consistantly working to keep there promise to those of us who bought this game at release by generating fixes and new content under the current set up. At the same time they are working on developing a whole new game from the ground up that will incorporate these changes. If you remember back to last January we told Yoshida, via the poll, that we agreed with the concept of a totally rewrite of the game. At the same time SE has other projects in the works. While doing all of this SE has allowed us to play and develope our characters for free when the smart buisness decision would have been to shut the game down and try again. If this sounds like a lovefest for Yoshida and his team then so be it. I can accept these delays so that they can get it right. It's not like we set the timeline. Right that is because some other games just push it out then either wait till a player finds it and goes woops we didn't know about that *HOTFIX* or they just later go *HOTFIX* "we found this bug in the system and fixed it" or "sorry but the spell XXX for class ZZZ had a bug where it incorrectly made the spell do *STUPID* damage and one shot everything. This has been fixed". Yeah never knew any games that ever did that...
In the end I don't care they found a bug and they are fixing it and so the patch gets pushed back a few days... nothing big... I mean its not like you had scheduled time off so you could be right there and first person on the server to play with the new patch... I mean you didn't did you?
