Hardees & Carl's Jr FFXIV promotional cups prediction

I really question the marketing mentality behind this cup. There are no ffxiv players left who have not already besieged their friends, family and probably a good handful of strangers to pick up the game, so they can take advantage of the recruit-a-friend program. So, throwing a 50% off code on a cup, on A Realm Reborn, seems kind of pointless.

The only people who will be actively seeking these cups, are FFXIV players. The big net SE is hoping to cast, which will lure in people who got the cup as part of their regular meal and never heard of or thought about the game, is going to go something like this:


*slurp* eh, who's this guy on my cup? why does he have that stupid helmet? oh 50% off... *sluuuuurp, throws cup in trash*

Did Skyrior get banned and make a new account? Why are you getting so worked up over this? Why would anyone complain about a campaign designed to increases the games exposure and potentially population AND provide existing players something to collect?

I think you overlook the point of promotional material, even if it only nets a few people it still promoting the game. Doesn't sound like you be very good at marketing, how many people pay attention to ads on tv or youtube? Few as you stated in the last part of your post, but they still air the ad which is the same thing here.

I'm more mad they picked Hardees and Carl Jrs and not a more nationally recognized chain. The closest Hardees for me is about 45 minutes away and it's the only one, so if I wanted to sway friends/ family/ coworker into getting it for an awesome deal, I'd have to pay their gas money lol.

A buddy of mine down in Virginia doesn't even have either restaurants, it would have made more sense to do Burger King, Taco Bell, or McDonald's, considering a bigger market = bigger potential customer increase.

With Taco Bell having been officially announced filing for Bankrupt and closing all locations come 2018 or end of, I think BK or MCD would be the best possible bet. Even Jack in the box lol.

Um... What? The only thing I could find about Taco Bell filing for bankruptcy is a Snopes article stating it was a hoax by some "news" agency back in 2015. As for the Hardee's thing, it's part of marketing. I don't think there's any by me either way, unless that's Checkers in my area.

Too bad they didn't pick someone better to team up with. Both of those places around here are kind of terrible food wise, and barely manage to get an 80/100 on their rating. Seen it with a '74' as a previous cleanliness rating

Gotta be a troll comment (or very gullible person) cause Taco Bell not even a stand alone company it owned by a much bigger company known as Yum Brands which also owns KFC and Pizza Hut. Not to mention that not all locations are owned by the corporation as many are franchises.

I am more concerned with the scandles the previous CEO was in involving spousal abuse. He was also loon enough to be considered by the Trump administration for a cabinet position. A very bad and controversial business for SE to tie its name too.
