Since I'd like another person opinion on this.
When stormblood comes out
1.Should I just level up my main WHM to breeze through content
2. Level up SAM because even though it's subject to change whm may or may not be useless. Plus Sam looks like it's the aoe king.
Struggling to decide. Since I main whm have relic he's good to go but with the recent vids and from what I read doesn't seem great.
SAM just looks bad ass and he's a tank so idk

If you're digging the WHM changes, level it. If not, unlock SAM and go level it till they have a chance to fix the WHM. You'll probably be able to use your WHM relic to start your SAM relic so...

Also SAMs are DPS not tanks.

SAM is not a Tank. SAM is a dps. I'd probably at least do the story as WHM, to not have to wait a year per dungeon from the queue, and after that maybe switch to SAM

just do SAM. it sounds like you're not in any kind of raid group so you don't need to commit to anyone but yourself.

can always play WHM after.

SAM was a tank in FFXI.

In FFXIV Yoshida explicitly designed it as DPS.

1.) Unless you're going for first-world raid clears, any issues with white mage will probably seem minimal. A lot of the flack people are giving it are from the standpoint of raiding (if I'm reading most of it correctly.) Plus there might be changes to it. Either way if you enjoy the class, nothing should keep you from playing it.
2.) Definitely level SAM because that shit looks awesome. When you do it is up to you, but I plan to unlock SAM right after I go to a striking dummy to try out the dark Knight changes. Probably gonna level DRK through story to avoid ques and help some friends who want to level dps. Once that's at 70, I'm dedicating my game life to learning the ways of the Samurai.
