Who is rerolling what?

Hi,
out of curiosity and because I am going to main/reroll to one of the two new classes (can't realy decide, probably have to test both and make a decision on how they "feel" to play^^):

Are you going to reroll or main one of the two new classes? And if so: wich one?

My first priority is to stay with my MCH main and make my rotation for it since it's essentially a completely new rotation that we have to learn. After that, I plan on checking out RDM for a bit, since in past FF games, and many games in general, the Red Mage playstyle of "quick hitting jack of all trades" has always been what I typically play as, and the XIV version of RDM seems to capture that quite well. My only concern though is the fact that many of the youtubers who had hands on time with it at the media tour claimed it was probably by far the easiest class to play, which might end up taking a bit of the fun out of it for me. Either way, unless something from either RDM, SAM, or the adjustments to some of the other classes just feel like they hit that "perfect" mark for what I play, (which is how MCH got me to main it to begin with), I'll probably still stick with MCH as my main.....

I will say that my initial impressions of SAM aren't great, since it's only real characteristic seems to be as a brute force DPS, (though it does it with style). I'll check it out for sure, but the lack of utility skills and the ability to seemingly produce massive damage easily, just doesn't fit with what I enjoy gameplay wise.....

I'm going to level RDM, as I always do with casters, but I can never truly leave smn, now more than ever. I want to look like a god among peasants, I want to watch as BLM's blow things up, MCH using their cute flamethrower, BRD's doing acrobatics as they play the flute and what not. I want to watch all of this.....and I want to say.....



And then i'll probably die after i've aggro'd everything, but atleast it'll be a sexy death.

Definitely staying smn/whm as main for story & raids. Aside of that SAM & BRD over RDM. Never the less most of the cls promo vids seem interessting... MNK & NIN will follow just because they fit the SB environment <3

Although I got an ilvl 270 DRK with Anima i most probably won't focus on any Tank in this expansion... maybe for pvp but not for dngs/primals/raids.

If it were a REAL egi, it'd then tank that shit for you.

But at current programming, it'd also take 1-2 globals to cast the damn thing.

RDM as SCH is completely dead to me media tour edition at least. xD RDM just has so much to offer utility wise and has an interesting mechanic. :O

Dude same. Except I'm changing from SCH to PLD, and switching my DPS secondary from SMN to NIN, mainly because SMN's playstyle in the Media Tour seemed way too watered down from my taste. Now I'm not going to say NIN wasn't watered down, but at least the job got some pretty good QoL changes that I'm eager to try out (namely that Slashing debuff ain't a damage loss anymore and that Hide resets Mudras out of battle).

I know SMN finally got Bahamut, but I can't have fun spamming Ruin over and over >_>....

Changing my secondary to SAM. I like the mechanics of it. They seem fun, like you're building towards something, where DRG, MNK, and NIN all feel like you're trying to keep stuff from falling off instead. Big, big difference there.

DRG actually is going the other way in 4.0. Blood of the dragon will be up all the time easily, and you use your jumps to activate mirage dive to build up eyes to enter Life of the dragon.

Staying with DRG for SB.
