Sticking with MCH initially, but feeling a bit torn between it and BRD. Will have to judge after playing them both at 70. Either way I'm still ranged physical![]()

I am torn between RDM and BLM. I am a very visual person, so particle effects are major point for a job for me in which RDM and BLM have in abundance. It's the main reason I don't care for SAM; it is not flashy enough. I guess I have to decide once I get my hands on RDM for me to decide.
I've been eagerly awaiting SAM as a melee DPS even before the reveal of Stormblood. I was extremely excited being on the Frankfurt fanfest and seeing the reveal of what my dreamjob was. The media tour info has only made me more excited for the job. I'm a melee DPS at heart, always prefered them over anything else.
In ARR I mained a NIN because I liked it being a fast-paced versatile job. In HW I switched to DRG as the BotD mechanic added just that little bit of intricacy I was looking for in terms of melee mechanics which I was missing on NIN at lv 60. NIN felt more like an extension of the same where DRG felt more like an evolution of it's style. I like somewhat complicated melee mechanics like being able to switch between faster hits or lining up a big one. SAM seems to fit this role perfectly (on top of me just loving blades just a bit more than polearms) so first thing I'll do is switch to and level SAM to 60, then continue the MSQ with it.![]()

I'll be switching to Rdm as my main and probably Sam as a second. Maybe stick with Drg as a third. I mean eventually Ill level the classes I use/like anyway.
I'm a fairly gameplay > aesthetics person. I favor a bit of depth, window awareness, varying rotational strings, and continuous intensity, cumulative moments of glory through optimization of small decisions and the ability to do a bit more than one would expect for the given role. In XIV, this has mostly meant Monk.
Now that most of its mechanical control has been stripped away (stanceless skills to control the cycling modular values), others made obsolete, most additions bloated, its salient points flattened, and the remainder further internally imbalanced... probably going SAM or DRG, as dull as they appear by comparison to a mid-SS 3.x MNK.
im rerolling bow mage for bard! =D
I'm going to go in with a hopeful outlook....and try to play the newly remobilized Bard. But that's me being optimistic. I've been playing Bard forever. I'm not too keen on the changes. It's looking pretty wet noodle like in the DPS department. I was enjoying seeing the Boss's health bar go down when I hit it even if I had to stand still for a second or so to do it. If it turns out too squishy I'll probably switch to MCH which I have been enjoying in the PotD runs I've been doing. Or I'll try out RDM. What I would really like is a more rangery archer class or a WoW like hunter with a pet.
I can see myself swapping back and forth between SMN/RDM just to change it up sometimes. BLM is the only caster i'll probably never go back to, over the turret style gameplay. I gotta be on the move!
It rather difficult to choose to stay MCH or go SAM since my original love as a Job/Class was a Sword user focused on DPS until later when RPGs started introducing Gun users as playable class/job in their options.

AST will always be my main. But in terms of dps main, I will be switching from NIN to RDM.
