If I could disagree 500,000 times, I would. I hate Ring of Thorns spamming in cities (literally) more than anything else in this game and I'm so happy I will never have to hear it again.
Power Surge was pointless fluff. When it's up, you use it with Jump. It was just a needlessly annoying thing to remember on a class that was already teeming with buttons to press at specific moments. How was Power Surge fun? :P you either remember it for the one skill you'd only ever want to pair it with, or not.
Ring of Thorns was...useful I guess...but I would be a liar if I didn't let out a huge cheer irl at never having to hear that unholy screeching racket in cities ever again. Now if they could just remove Holy and Unleash....
And one of the new skills combos from Doom Spike. If they swapped RoT back in for that you'd have an aoe rotation where you keep weaving in and out of the pack for circle aoe->line aoe-> circle aoe etc. It looked cool, I concede. Wide Volley will also be missed.

Power Surge really wasn't good ability design. As it was, it was functionally a second button you had to push to use Jump at maximum capacity every minute.
Ring of Thorns, while okay on paper, really just made Dragoons who were too lazy to aim Doom Spike worse in dungeons if they wanted to AOE, it being gone is an improvement for that in my opinion.
This. The first was bloat, and the second was rarely useful at Doom Spike's current width and their current potency and TP values, much like Wide Volley (though WV had clearer divisions to where it was actually needed). It had uses, but they were far and few between.Power Surge really wasn't good ability design. I'll miss my DoTs, especially Touch of Death and Fracture on Monk and Scourge on Dark Knight. I don't see why, in the interest of reducing maintenance or artificial difficulty, they'd remove all open DoTs, which actually have some depth, yet retain or even empower self-buffs, which were already too powerful to warrant any dropped duration, therefore becoming a non-choice or simply... artificial difficulty / bloat.
Glad they are both gone.
There was literally one guy wich ill never forget who spammed ring of thorns for 1 damn hour i shit u not.
Still have to praise that spamm finger dough :I
Ring of thorns was rarely useful and did less damage than Doom Spike. In AE you should use Doom Spike over Ring of Thorns, the only time I would ever use RoT was if the mobs happened to be spread out in a circle or in a way I could not hit the majority with a Doom Spike.
Power Sure was nice imo only for the weaving of it into the gcd. That is my main concern atm is we are losing 2 off gcds and with a massive gcd this game has I am afraid it will make the rotation boring. But, we will see.
I'm sure mirage dive and nastrond will fill those ogcd no problem.Ring of thorns was rarely useful and did less damage than Doom Spike.
