MSQ "Drowning Out The Voices" Key Item is missing upon quest completion and am stuck.

MSQ “Drowning Out The Voices” Key Item (Electromagnetic Reader) Cid put into my Key Item bag is gone upon quest completion so unable to hand the Electromagnetic Reader back to him to end the MSQ.

Took the 5 readings with the Electromagnetic Reader which WAS in my key items bag, (Quest was green check marked as complete) but when I went back to Cid to return his Electromagnetic Reader with the readings the Key Items bag was empty of the Electromagnetic Reader which was where it was supposed to be. No It is not in my inventory either.

So that means the quest is complete as I did all that Cid needed, but the Electromagnetic Reader is missing out of the key items so I cannot hand it over to end the quest.

Request a quest reset so I may continue leveling as the Development Department investigates my Key Items issues and or the MSQ.

This is the second MSQ that Silver Etch has had Key Item issues with, the last being “Not My War” (jungle courel skins not dropping into Key Item bag like they were supposed to)which was just reset Friday 6-2-2017 after almost a month of waiting. So between the two the coincidence is leaning toward the probability that my key item bag may be glitching occasionally. But I sure hope not!

I'd like to make it to 60 before Stormblood comes out, but at this rate it's not looking good.

MSQ"Drowning Out the Voices" is complete "You have taken sufficient readings. Return to Reventant's Toll and report to Cid" but as you can see the key items bag is empty of the Electromagnetic Reader that has the readings on it and so cannot hand over and end the quest. Nor can any other Readings be taken as the key Item "Electromagnetic Reader" is missing.

Completed quest log picture with inventory open and also no Electromagnetic Reader that NPC Cid is needing handed over to end the completed MSQ "Drowning Out the Voices". Still wouldn't matter as the Electromagnetic Reader started out in my key items but after taking the last reading and heading to Cid it disappeared.

Hello Silver Etch,

Thank you for submitting your bug report. May I ask, what happens if you simply speak to Cid at this point? From the screencaps and information you provided, there is no issue with the quest at this point.

If you speak to Cid, you should be prompted to trade over the quest items. Doing so automatically brings you to an items request menu that allows you to easily trade over the items. This will allow you to progress in the quest.

I think there is some confusion while you are looking at your inventory or differentiating key items from quest items, so if you could please try speaking to Cid, you should be prompted from there to trade over the requested items.

If you are still having an issue, please include screenshots of every step while speaking to Cid at this point.

Thank you Qeepel for responding to this MSQ issue.

If you are looking at the last image you will note Cid asking for the Electromagnetic Reader back to check the readings. This is the only image of Cid in the return the quest phase as this is all he does. He asks for the Electromagnetic Reader then goes back to just standing there.
He is asking for the readings that are on the Electromagnetic Reader but since this quest item is MISSING I have nothing to hand over to him and so the quest will not end.
I have youtubed this quest and all the images show the Electromagnetic Reader being handed back over but it is MISSING in my key items bag hence the MSQ bug report my me being stuck... again.

Hello Silver Etch, and thank you for your response and further information.

It is odd that Cid would become non-responsive after speaking with him, and it would be extremely rare for the exact same issue to occur twice on two separate occasions so soon since your last report. With that said, I believe there may be a reasonable explanation for what you are experiencing.

Have you tried to reset your UI by chance? It may be possible that the item request window that should be appearing has become hidden or might have been accidentally moved off your screen.

This can be done under the System Menu > HUD layout > Default All. It may also be helpful to seek the advice of somebody in-game or someone who can see your screen and actions in-person, who might be able to guide you.

Please try this and let us know your result. In the meantime, I have escalated your issue for further investigation. Please note however that these investigations can take quite a while, so we must ask for your patience. As well, the GM staff nor myself can reset quests until an issue has been confirmed after an investigation. Should we find a problem after the investigation, we will contact you with further information.

Thank you for your response, we have reset the UI, the computer and removed and reloaded the game, again. I am also replacing my mouse and G13 controller in the event they are causing the issue. This is the same issue as before and requires the same deletion of quest so i can retake and attempt to complete. I understand that it takes time but i would hope that it will not be another month and I miss the release of the next expansion or am unable to reach level 60 prior to release, it seems i am spending most of my game time waiting for the development team to confirm my issues and not playing, seems like money wasted while waiting.
