    Rdm combos

I find it odd that so far the red mage tooltips show that the procd spells verfire and verstone have a lower potency than verthunder and veraero with 300 and 270 respectfully. I know the main thing is the mana gauge they supply but man i think it would feel better for those proccd spells to hit harder than the preceeding spells.

    Thoughts?

Where there is light, there is always a shadow behind it.

The procced spells are in fact higher potency due to the much lower cast time. Potency per second of the opening spells is 300/5=60 while the potency per second of the proc spells is 270/2.5=108. Using the dualcast effect increases the base spell potency per second to 300/2.5=120 but this is only after casting another spell.

A more reasonable comparison to make is comparing the potency of the proc spells with Jolt, Jolt II, and Impact, since they perform the same function in the rotation. The procs are in effect upgraded versions of the Jolt line.

Oh, and the way we'll be casting the spells will feel more like casting proc spell first followed by the base spell second because of the instant cast on the latter, so the order of damage hits will be from lower to greater im terms of feel. E.g. Stone immediately followed by instant Thunder is low to high.

I get what you are saying but if you always use dualcast with the long spells wouldnt it essentially make the fire and stone spells seem more underwhelming, having to hardcast it and have lower damage than the thunder and aero spells.

Maybe i wont even notice it since you are throwing two spells at once. I think if dualcast also lowered the gcd flr that one cast so you didnt have that delay to cast the next spell it would speed up well. I just recall on my scholar hating to hardcast miasma and bio2 then waiting on the gcd for aero and bio1.

That also being said the slight delay can fit the ogcds and see of the stone or fire procs happen or if you are gojng to jolt or impact.

Id think you sort of need that gcd as annoying as it is after the dualcast to help just a little with Mp management, also you can use you oGCDs during that point depending on the oGCD that is

I agree, it is a necessary evil for cds and other ogcd unfortunately.

The fire amd stone spells are not combo spells in a chain that get stronger im succession. They're just an upgrade to the base action of the Jolt/Impact --> Thunder/Air combo. That's the actual combo, and the proc is an upgrade.to the first action of it. It's much more like fire starter for black mages is where it allows an increase in effect on the base spell occasionally.

The main thing is that it hits harder than the spell that they actually replaced, Jolt and Jolt II (270 vs 180/240). Also grants you 1.5 time the Mana (9 of single black/white opposed to 6 combined black and white)
