It wasnt that bad if you proced it, but AoE is always better when its circular, lines and cones require placement, and no matter the role getting all enemies in just the right spot is difficult.DRG keeps Doom Spike which comes at 42, before Ring of Thorns. It's also the AoE, you're supposed to use as a filler and Ring of Thorns was only good when following Heavy Thrust (when it needs refreshing).
This change results in a very minor tp loss between 46-62, but you gain a lot more AoE damage and tp efficiency post-62. Ring of Thorns was a trap ability because new players who don't know better would spam it instead of Doom Spike. SE is making changes so it's more intuitive how to AoE.
About the complete removal, I liked the animation but I'm also not crying for it's sound going away or its spam potential.
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
