    i know why a certain class has a certain trait. what i'm asking is how a trait to increase your damage output can be passive. passive is when your weapons is away, no?

    Not in this context. It just means that it doesn't require any action to be taken. It is "always on."

    It works the same way traits do now. You equip 'em, they work. No action is required.

    I think I can see where you're coming from now.

    Passive abilities is a game term that means its always on.
    Active abilities is a term that means the player (or NPC) has to turn on the ability themselves.

    Like eating a lalafell is an active ability. My body digests the rest passively.
