I leave you with this Fun Fact: perhaps you have noticed, but in several of the dungeons in La Noscea you will find locations on your maps with names like "Llymlaen's Folly" or "Llymlaen's Trial." These are, in fact, sacred sites for the followers of the Navigator--each representing one of the 12 chapters in the tale of Llymlaen's Ascent. As part of their worship, followers risk their lives to perform yearly pilgrimages, visiting all twelve sites in the order they appear in the tale.

The chapters (in order) are as follows:

Llymlaen's Flight
Llymlaen's Tempest
Llymlaen's Clarity
Llymlaen's Resolve
Llymlaen's Bearing
Llymlaen's Trial
Llymlaen's Encounter

Llymlaen's Encounter - Shposhae Map 5 - West (west of where the Giant Remora roams)

Side note: The Lighthouse southwest of Widow Cliffs is known as "Llymlaen's Ring"... perhaps a future quest could start or end here?

Now this is the right thread where I could vent my disappointment for the mess that happened in the lore of THMs and CNJs after the 1.20 class reforms, but Fernehalwes put me in such a huge happy mood that I'll avoid doing that... for now :P

Meh, afterall it would be useless anyway, nobody would agree with me except people looking for any possible reason to criticize the game.

Ooh, ouch! They blocked the LOC team from showing up on the Dev Tracker rather than just blocking any community rep posts in the Localization section? That makes me a little sad.

This is because if Ferne and Eemeefu showed up in the Dev tracker, they'd spam it to high hells with "thanks for catching that bug" all the time.

No, actually a number of people I know have been commenting on how it doesn't really make sense, lore-wise, that the Conjurers are no longer the elementalists and the Thaumaturges, which supposedly drew power from the divide between life and death, now just fling fireballs. From a purely game mechanic standpoint, I understand why they made the changes and actually kind of like them! But lore-wise... it kind of seems like both jobs just kind of broke and don't really make sense anymore.

BUT! More and more accessible lore both in-game and on the official sites makes me squee. Can't wait to see where they go with that!

Wow, you could make a really great quest/series of quests based off of just this alone. It sounds like you may already be planning this for 2.0. If future FFXIV quests are going to be based off of deep and interesting lore like this, then we have a lot to look forward to!
