Ala Mhigo was occupied by the Garlean forces after it's siege and subsequent fall. Gaius Van Baelsar (the Garlean legatus with the gunblade) was appointed Viceroy of the city by the Emperor, and he has kept the city in check to this day. Some adults were supposedly pushed into forced labor camps in and near the city, and children were indoctrinated and sent off to train in Garlemald to be soldiers in the Garlean Military.

Apparently the living conditions in Ala Mhigo are quite rough, though not to a point where it would incite riots or rebellion - although there is an Ala Mhigan resistance located outside the city walls.

They mention in game a bit about how the Garleans locked down the city of Ala Mihgo and only let other Garleans go in and out. I can only hope they eventually make that city a hostile one in the game. Maybe make raids or what not. Would be pretty sick.

I concur. Maybe have the raiders part of the resistance or something of that sort, like have the resistance leader(s) call on us adventurers for help.

That would be badass. Or make it so you can do repeatable raids Harriet Tubman style and keep fighting your way in and out to free more people each time. I really hope they read some of these, and they are picking up what we are laying down here lol

Sounds similar to a country in the real world which I will not name, besides, you probably know of it already since it's on the news almost daily nowadays :P
