In the event that the OP is actually not tech savvy and to really just answer the thread. The build you have, most notable the GPU and CPU is more than enough to handle FFXIV Stormblood at max settings and higher resolutions with easily over 60+ frames.

The GPU (Gtx 1070) is the best performance to price graphics card on the market and can push Battlefield 1 (a MUCH more intensive game graphically) at ultra(highest settings) with 60+ FPS.

Your PC is an above average build that will last well and handle FFXIV, a middle tier game in terms of performance demand, for a long time.

Thank you! I was nervous about buying my first PC. I tend to play on console, but I can't play FF14 with a controller so I thought I'd take the first step into it. I just hope I didn't get ripped off at $1,400.

And why is everyone so hostile with their assumptions? I just wanted to know.

Could have done that for half the cost. But if you would be asking, if that's a good price for an already assembled pc , then the answer is that it's not bad. Wouldn't call it a good deal tho, however you get what you pay for, if the knowledge is limited or lacking.

In all you shouldn't have to worry about playing the current game as well as the expansion with that.

How could I have cut the cost?

By assembling the PC yourself and looking for the best deal you could get on every part - might have saved a bit on the cost on the parts and definitly on whatever the company that made the PC considered fit to charge for already putting the PC together.

If you dont know how to assemble a PC though, its probably cheaper to just buy a full package instead of risking to damage something (not that it would be that difficult to assemble a PC - if you got an old one lying around and an afternoons time, maybe take a look inside and get familiar with that stuff, so you can upgrade your current PC yourself should you ever want to do that). Pro about having someone else put that PC together is the warranty aswell ofc...

The guy is low key bragging, but it's somewhat in that ballpark. A 1070 can be found for 300, i7700k for 300 (even cheaper at in store deals or with a motherboard deal), and a case/psu/ram would be under 200-ish. Then you need an SSD. I say the estimate would be around 800-1k to build your pc, but that requires time, effort, and a little luck. 1.4k isn't bad for a pre build.
