We are just remembering the good old days, chill. Certain things can fit pretty nicely in FFXIV and not necessarily has to be direct content.

While Eorzea isn't Vana'diel, there are a number of parallels between the two settings (races, beast tribes, among other things). Moreover, XIV is Square Enix's second attempt at a massively multiplayer game, which is in the same franchise.

I think saying that XIV is a spiritual successor to XI isn't wholly inaccurate.

I'd be more interested in some type of 1.0 flashback content for those of us who never played 1.0. Maybe Ascians messing with the timestream or something.

Yeah agreed that it don't hurt to reminisce about the old days. But also agreed that these are 2 difference games and are going to stay that way. Having said that.. Personally I wouldn't mind seein an expansion with just new stuff all around, w/an evolution of current systems. I think that most of us can agree that Chains of Promathea was the best expansion and having an interesting story etc.. If there was something equivalent that or better, that'd be awesome lol

I've always thought using the Wandering Minstrel for themed fights built for XIV's combat system could a fun idea, for glamours if nothing else. He already exaggerates our current exploits, so him telling us the story about something from "another realm" isn't unviable.

Yoshida: We haven’t actually clearly decided on how we’ll bring a resolution to the Ascian arc. I don’t think we need to hold it until the end of service however. Having the arc for them end and finding out about Zodiark or the secret behind Hydaelyn or who the Warrior of Light actually is… even if we did reveal all that and have closure, it’s still not the end of the story. We can always make more expansions, maybe we’ll go to Vana’diel or something like that- “Return to Vana’diel” (laughs)"

It would be nice to see a continent that is some nonsense explanation of Ffxi world merge with it.

And the content would be the old hardcoreness of ffxi that we all know and love. Those who want to join its ranks can and those who don't can stay in their other continent
