How do you plan to progress your roleplay in Stormblood?

I'm in the process of routing my character to Kugane. I'm just waiting until I can explore Othard, enough to actually decide where on Hydaelyn my Au Ra's origin of birth will be. You see, I liked Doma more originally, based on the lore we knew (not much), but Kugane feels like an absolute paradise. It also seems like it gathers a fairly wide city state presence. I imagine there will be a lot of different roleplayers. In what direction do you think you're going with your characters?

No idea - I tend to just go with the flow with my characters and see where I end up. I rarely make plans in advance.

Well the tentative plan is as a Flame he will go in with the rest of the forces to free Gyr. He will go through some things, he hasn't been home since the fall, deal with some personal issues and then go home to Ul'dah and retire from the Flames maybe. Feels like it would be the right time for him to do that. Maybe find new opportunities, and as a soldier myself, I like the idea of exploring becoming a civilian after all the years in uniform. Most likely I'll have him find work in the government. Maybe a Sworn, maybe a mailman. I don't really know yet.


My friends and all their RPs seem to lead to Doma so most likely I'll be pulled there from time to time, but I have no personal like or dislike of Doma. I guess I'll keep watch over Ul'dah while everyone goes to Doma to play. I'll housesit lol.

Seriously though, it's impossible for me to say until I see the zones themselves and how much time they let us viably spend in each while still leveling efficiently. I'm hoping the Azim Steppes will really be something, and for the time being that will probably be the center of any sense of character identity within SB specifically.

While I don't particularly RP that much, my story tends to be one of going with the flow, and seeing what new tasks and challenges await me. Exploring the region, felling powerful foes, maybe toppling a government or two. Beyond that is simply advancing the ways of the Machinist, and developing new attack patterns and strategies based on the experiences I discover in combat. I'm neither a hero nor a villain, and am simply traveling the paths I find as I see the options I have......

My character's birthplace still remains unknown. All that is known is that she was found as an abandoned infant in Mourn, though two slain Dravanians appeared to have been caring for her. She definitely doesn't come from any kind of paradise, but rather a very dark and cold place. We will see if this place presents itself in the future. However, with RDMs entering the game, clues to her parentage may come about.

I don't RP with people but I do write personal lore for my character to explain prolonged job changes. An example would be that my character essentially fried the nerves in her hands by channeling too much aether as a MNK midway through HW, after which she got the whole "You may never be able to punch again." shtick, cause she could barely move her fingers, let alone make a fist. So she became an AST in order to study healing magic to find a way to fix her hands. Stormblood will be her return to MNK, hands fixed and all.

My main just goes where coin is good and she feels like she might get paid well if she heads over to Doma/Gyr Abania to help liberate them.

My alt goes where the Maelstrom sends her since she's a CNJ for them. Since they're going to aid in the liberation she has to go to tend to the wounded.

My character was born in Ala Mhigo and fled as a child when the city was overrun by the Garlean forces - returning to Ala Mhigo and somehow helping to liberate it has been a major goal in her life and influenced her decision to become an adventurer in the first place back before the Calamity (sadly though she has a terrible sense of direction and got herself lost in the Black Shroud, so she ended up in Gridania instead ).

So she is going to be actively supporting the Resistance, and soon, flying on her griffin over Gyr Abania with the Ala Mhigan standard held high.
