Thread: Foes Requiem Mistranslated? English vs Japanese tooltip

From what I am reading, there may have been a mistake in the translation for the English tooltip for Foes Req...and the difference between the Japanese text and the English text is fairly significant. I am looking for clarification on this.

The English text has Foes applying a reduction to damage dealt by enemies, where as the Japanese text (according to Reddit referencing an article published by Famitsu) that Foes actually increases damage FROM party TO enemy by 3% (or something to that affect).

Here are the tooltips for comparison, I cannot translate the Japanese text so this is based purely from others who have.

It has been said that the JP version was an earlier build and the english version is the most up to date. Similar to how devotion was single party memeber and now the english version is full raid

JP Foe's sounds like the correct one to me. A Requiem is music for amass for the dead, so DPS buff fits that more than a damage reducer.

The US media tour took place before the Live Letter, and the Live Letter uses tooltips that line up better with the Famitsu article tooltips. Granted, we never saw Foe's during the LL, but we did see some other skills (riddle of fire, etc.) that were definitively different.

So the JP one is the more recent build. Doesn't mean they won't switch it back, though.

The headline of the Famitsu article states that all their data is from the German media tour which was just last week, so... they should be the most recent thing available.
