Do AST really need this Buff?

I'm sorry, but if the only argument for people to stop worrying about Stormblood changes is the "subject to change" line, then you really don't have much of an argument. The entire game is subject to change. It's all subject to change. They could delete Astrologian from existence and that would fit "subject to change," you people are like broken records.

It's because they're a a freaking HYBRID JOB. It's supposed to be lower. It should NEVER replace a WHM. Nor come close to repalcing a SCH. with their Card system, it shouldn't be anywhere near powerful like a WHM or a SCH is. A hybrid job, is a hybrid for a reason.

I was one of the few people that felt AST was fine to play in 3.0. That said I remember all the complaint threads about MP issues and healing potency very clearly.
My position has been and will remain that AST should not have either regen or shields, but rather direct heals only plus the card system.

Sounds legit. From this, I agree. For AST not to tread on other healer's jobs and all.

It makes a lot of sense now, but the issue when the AST was first implemented was that the regens + shields was the base meta, and RNG damage buffs on their own aren't enough to entice a healer to choose a class without actual healing utility, especially when it plays like a WHM with an inability to have heals ticking while in cleric stance. Ideally I think they should have had either a new mechanic or a costly hybrid version similar to SCH's having Whispering Dawn, but a new mechanic may have been beyond the dev's creativity at that point in time.

Honestly I can't see having an AST as a straight healer with cards being effective unless the RNG was completely removed from the card draw mechanic to compensate, but that goes against the Yugi-Oh inspiration of the Draw mechanic. Thus the problem is figuring out what they could do that would be as viable as regens or shields without making their additional card benefits too OP, and the answer they come up with is "just let them do both".

Just get out. I've been done with people like you since 3.1. Same elitist jerks that made me want to switch from AST just so people wouldn't insult me.

Edit: While I'm at it, AST hasn't even been out for a year yet.

I love AST. I love WHM. Sometimes I want to play AST. Sometimes I want to play WHM. And other times I just want to play SCH.

But without job balance I won't be able to take one of the above healers into certain content. It has nothing to do with tears, it's about hoping for balanced classes where one class isn't clearly more powerful than the others. Also, AST was fine in Midas, really, outside of early progression; it wasn't a year and a half at all.

I'd consider myself an AST main as I've played the job since day 1 of Heavensward early access. I think they have gone overboard in Stormblood based on the skills as we know them today.

The four main things that need to be toned down:

1. The 10% healing sect bonus is totally unnecessary.
2. Earthly Star sounds amazing but I feel the heal potency is too high, especially in it's buffed 10 second form.
3. Third, the Lady card is exciting, but 500 potency is too high. There's no reason the potency should be higher than Benefic.
4. Last, I believe the potency for Nocturnal Aspected Benefic has been buffed far too much.

I hoped for balance for more then a year as i said. Why can't you, uh ?
AST always been great in good players hands even in 3.0, we litterally had to wait 3.2 to be decent compared WHM and 3.4 to compete with SCH.

It's alright, you just gonna need to wait until 4.2 patch'
