One of the things they could do to help make ends meet for us would be natural combat regen on titan.
Having sustain back would be nice but I do understand somewhat why they removed it too.
Most of the issues I have with Summoner lies in pre level 50, what makes me want to play summoner to level 50?
and its not like you have access to stuff like DWT or Demi-Bahamut, so its a MAJOR nerf to lower level summoner.
one of the stupid things I wish they would do to help lower level summoner is to let them have Ruin mastery earlier on, around where you normally would have gotten the trait "enhanced pet actions" which is basically what ruin mastery replaced!
possibly a bit later where a summoner starts really feeling the loss of the extra dot so they have something to get them to level 50 and beyond. (and its not like we get more enkindles then we should since that is an entirely different trait altogether.)
Maybe they nerfed <60+ cls' (read Sch got probs as well in low level f.e) in generell to sell their jump-potions? ;3

Summoner right now is garbage. Remove the bahamut and give me my spells back. The AoE damage is pure trash and the class feels dumbed down.

Same... Leveling hasn't felt so unsatisfying like leveling SMN to 64.Aetherpact - Devotion really is the disappointment I thought it would be.
Nevermind the fact that it's effect is pathetic and it's applied to a random party member. The delay it has is similar to Enkindle where you pet will either turn or move toward the party member and then cast the ability.
It feels like the dev. team wanted us to have another ability our pet could use to possibly proc Further Ruin and just sloppily came up with Aetherpact. I hope they revisit this.
Your's does? I can barely feel it. Since the animation was also done kinda, weak..yeah dunno. I feel like redmage got all the love for fancyness.

Anyone get to 70 yet? does SMN get better? I can't understand how after these nerfs they didn't reduce the cooldown of aetherflow. If they want to make our playstyle more agressive and constantly keep us in DWT we cannot have aetherflow on a minute cooldown. The dps loss in general can be fixed with a reduced aetherflow cooldown.

Very disappointed with the new SMN. It has been seriously crippled compared to the way it was, anyone denying that really needs help.
I haven't used it much and have been maining SCH instead in early access on my other character.
Removing the pet heal (Sustain) was silly. The whole point of having a pet was that you could heal it up when soloing. The DoTs are now totally underwhelming too.
Too much nerf-bat, not enough added to make it worthwhile.
Step into my mind... there are terrors here which you cannot imagine.


I get lvl 70 yesterday and i feel like stack management is more punishing than ever before. Gameplay is totally different. Summoner is like totally different class than before. Still dont know what would be the most effective way use bahamut and contagion and aetherflows etc. Gameplay also feels interesting no idea how overpowered/underpowered it really is before you can compare numbers against other classes.

Second although i liked the way HW summoner was to play with the prio system rota and dot-management, im personally really looking forward the 180 degree shift - I like trying out new things which are completely different than everything before ^^

The new SMN kind of sucks to play. Not being able to do aetherflow while in trance is just so bad. It make the job fight itself, you have multiple abilities pulling in different directions. I don't care if it does a billion dps or anything, it just isn't fun to play. Not being able to do AF abilities in trance is just so freaking boring. And why does doing trance when I have Summon Bahamut available erase my Summon Bahamut stacks? Like how clunky can you make this job?
I also don't like the new shadowflare, I don't like Devotion (a tiny buff to one player closest to the pet? WTF. Make it AOE or targetable).
They should just go back to the old SMN but add in bahamut and the tri-d proc.
And put my goddam dreadwyrm timers and AF stacks back on my buff bar. I don't want to look at the stupid gauge. Before everything was in one convenient location for me to easily look at.
I used to like SMN but I'm definitely switching off. It's only good now in PvP.
