well first off there is not "several" dungeons (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/several). 2nd i said that "quest chains" are pretty much non-existant...which is true.

Actually assuming your not only counting instanced dungeons as dungeons there are actually 6. Shomegoe or whatever it's called outside of LL was labeled as a low level dungeon. If that is a dungeon then surely the other beastmen strongholds are also dungeons. I duno about the low level one since it's a bit different but the strongholds are very much dungeon like where you can run through them killing hordes of mobs(Have to kill specific mobs to reach next area), then reach a final boss, and along the way are several treasure chests to get.

They aren't necessarily heavily story driven but if your after some sort of progressive content where you have to do a then you can do b and finally c that actually already exists in Faction leves.

Regardless of if any one person finds something fun it is still content. Going by pads there's approximatly 131 quests to complete, 42 faction leves, 40 NM's, and 29 company quests(though I actually have 31 completed), 87 camps/sites to visit. All of that is cold hard content just because someone doesn't like it or it's not EG doesn't mean it's not content. If a new player were to start today and try and complete all that the game had to offer (everything I listed before) it would take them some time before they would be able to complete it all. (I didn't include leveling every class but that in itself is a form of content too). If someone says there's nothing to do and they haven't at least 100%'d one of the things above I don't believe them. After that I just assume there after very specific content and will have to wait for it. That's your only choice bitching that we only have Moogle for 2 months isn't going to change anything they already laid out a very specific roadmap that they plan to follow.

Also incase anyone was curious here's the number of days between the last several patches assuming they keep up the same trend it will be no more than 2 and a half months.

On to my response. OP, we have two months in between each patch. The last two patches were major content patches, and this is the first one in a while that has been more focused on revamp and re-balancing over content. It's funny how that's grounds for so many threads that cry "OMG THE SKY IS FALLING, ONLY ONE PRIMAL FIGHT???". The devs have to lay the groundwork for how this game is going to function before they can implement content that uses that functionality. I'm sure that this patch would have happened closer to 1.18, had it not been for the fact that everyone was whining for more content back then, too.

The only part of your argument that I agree with is the fact that it is a little odd to start billing in the middle of a revamp heavy patch (1.20) rather than a content heavy patch like 1.21. However the way I see it, you're getting a free month with 1.20. If you've done all the content leading up to that, and the only thing you have left is the moogle fight, then you can choose to hold off on paying for a month. You'd save the money that you seem to covet based on principal, and you could pay for the game when the content heavy patch comes around a month later.

Well the moogle battle is one thing, but the achievements is also another thing that can keep you busy until we get more content.. Or so I'm hoping.

First things first, none of these other games are going through a fundemental change like XIV is.

None of the other games that are "great" were released with the craptastic game we've been through.

And they are also creating some content that will eventually get erased come 2.0. I mean what else do you want? They are creating content for before and after 2.0. Go play one of those games, don't get your panties in a bunch because they aren't satisfying every little thing you want in this game.

i dont even game that often in general, none the less play this game very often.
i dont like WoW or Rift. neither suit my taste. in fact i dont think there ever will be an MMO that can suite my taste so i dont really worry about it.

when im not playing a video game im hanging out with my friends, practicing my DJing, shopping because i like looking damned good and reading.
the closest i have to care about the this game is the mage direction because i personally enjoyed having a huge arsenal of useless spells to play with when im soloing and having the low spell list reminds me of the few spells every other western MMO gives you.
