Interesting how the OP pretty much labels anyone who disagrees with his misinformed OP as a "white knight" (via quotes from others who have posted in this thread), as if that negates their argument.

The Community Team should post a sticky that says "anyone that complains about the content of an upcoming patch is a whiny man-baby candy ass who needs to get out more". Oh wait, that would be over generalizing, and childish.

Using ad hominem attacks does not make you right, no matter how much you try to spin your argument. It just makes you look like a child who cannot have a civil debate.



On to my response. OP, we have two months in between each patch. The last two patches were major content patches, and this is the first one in a while that has been more focused on revamp and re-balancing over content. It's funny how that's grounds for so many threads that cry "OMG THE SKY IS FALLING, ONLY ONE PRIMAL FIGHT???". The devs have to lay the groundwork for how this game is going to function before they can implement content that uses that functionality. I'm sure that this patch would have happened closer to 1.18, had it not been for the fact that everyone was whining for more content back then, too.

The only part of your argument that I agree with is the fact that it is a little odd to start billing in the middle of a revamp heavy patch (1.20) rather than a content heavy patch like 1.21. However the way I see it, you're getting a free month with 1.20. If you've done all the content leading up to that, and the only thing you have left is the moogle fight, then you can choose to hold off on paying for a month. You'd save the money that you seem to covet based on principal, and you could pay for the game when the content heavy patch comes around a month later.

Well the moogle battle is one thing, but the achievements is also another thing that can keep you busy until we get more content.. Or so I'm hoping.

Throw in learning which traits and skills are better for your play style and you have 1.5 month of "Fun, fun, fun!", we'll just have to push through the rest and wait for the jobs.

no, in fact it is saying i dont care if its great or bad because a games perceived greatness and badness are completely irrelevant to me.
i play games for certain aspects of content, that and that alone. guess what! i think skyrims battle system is on the same level of clunky as FFXI. neithers' battle system is any more enjoyable in my terms, yet i still play both for different reasons and i dont consider either to be neither great or bad.

FFXIV is being overhauled. If it was in XI's position, i.e not going through an overhaul; We'd be getting our first expansion pack by now.

If they focused on content, there would be more content, but they're focusing on fixing the game and lack of content isn't what's exactly wrong with the game as a whole, many more problems exist beyond not having 9020 hours of content to do.
