    POTD Floor 50 Boss

Warning this is more of a mini rant but I feel like it has to be asked.

Why are people still struggling with this boss after all this time? I don't mean to come across as leetist but it's really simple. Don't stand in telegraphs and face away from her when she uses cold feet...thats it. Every time I do it I see countless people get caught by the fear and then wander into the telegraphs. Even gone out of my way to explain mechanics before the fight but it still happens.

My simple answer to this is: The rest of the game (and the former potd-floors) is to easy. People are used to facerolling content and ignoring mechanics, so they dont know how to deal with them (and are also not willing to).

Partially we've created this problem ourselves - by asking for nerfs each time content is not completly baindead, faceroll easy and actuall requires you to - shock! - do something!
People struggle with mechanics -> mechanics get removed -> people dont learn how to handle mechanics -> struggled -> nerf -> no learning effect -> struggle... you get the idea...

I have to agree. The boss itself is not hard at all, but I guess its just more brain power required than the rest of the palace itself. I confess to shutting my brain off when running the floors, however I turn it back on once we are on a notable boss floor. What I find ironic is that usually the floors 41-49 themselves are much harder than the boss since there are a lot more mimics and room patrols, hell even mob density increases; with a poor party comp (no healer) it can cause problems. I thought perhaps because I'm just too used to tanking and looking out for things to avoid when mechanics are involved that I'm being too hard on people, but I guess not?

Well... I admit I do at times faux up boss mechanics in palace as well, because by the time I reach a boss, my eyes are already half-shut, my heartbeat slow and I usually have started playing with one hand to support the head with the other.

Most of my wipes in there have been because ranged people were too slow to react to In Health, personally. The orange AoE indicator does tend to ring bells on people (I rarely see people not move at all), but they're slow. If you mentioned the cold feet mechanic to the group, people typically get hit once, then the first turn around.
Since you're on Lich, I'll also note that on EU servers, there seem to be a large amount of completely new players who might just have passed Copperbell. While leveling my alt, I ran into quite a few of them in PotD. With like half of Aether being on Balmung/Gilgamesh, I get that experience much less often on NA.

It can be tricky if you don't have a healer as she still hits hard, especially if you also lack a tank as those by then have the entirety of their kit and can keep themselves alive quite well.
I'd also blame a lot of it on what Zojha said - not only are there new players, but people will expect everyone to flawlessly know and abide by the mechanics and start getting salty when they see they're about to wipe. a minute or two of 'hey, everyone knows the mechs?' could save lives, but new timers won't often ask because they don't think it'd be that hard or are just scared to ask ("why didn't you watch a guide?!"), and the old timers won't offer because they expect everyone to have been born with an A12S clear to their name.

Maybe she's still hard because Palace First Timers will do stage 50 only one time and then leveling in 51-60 and come back only after the Padjal weapon is upgraded and they lack of aether for 51-60 .
I think that the majority of players who played Palace of the Dead, before the floors 51-100 were introduced, have lesser problems with Edda than players I mentioned above.
It's like every other boss fight. If you repeat it often (and you want to learn the fight) you'll get better at it.

You don't really get to practice on this boss like you do with other bosses. You wipe once, it's game over. That's extremely annoying. It becomes hard to learn her patterns and behavior. On top of that, she basically regenerates health for every mistake. Too many and she just instantly wipes your party too, not giving you a chance to actually learn how to fight against her.

You wouldn't know that if it was your first time facing her. The huge eye is also something that you don't get to see very often. Most mage and caster types will also usually keep the maximum distance for safety, which doesn't work here because you need to stay almost directly on top of her to avoid the damage. You want to stay close. It's rather unusual, even for high level bosses.
