Just to be clear, AspBen's shield still stronger than an Adlo crit.Definitly not weak compare to ast.
If ast gains that 300% shield and the 170% aoe shield, it's because they can only rely on those two skills to shield efficiently.
We have fairy, aetherflow management and free heals, still the deployed critical adlo, now a critical rate buff on the target and a singl target bomb heal.
So there's nothing to worry about.
Emmmmmmmmm..... you know they actually boosted ( a little, but still a boost) single target dps, right?
To be fair, SCHs are a big old cheat with this since we can just job-change to SMN for leveling and SCH for dungeons.
It sucks for other healers, though.
Holy has been nerfed 3 times, and Gravity is under similar constraints. Then there's SCH AoE deeps...
I was never really vocal about the whole SCH/SMN split since until now it was working okay, but now I wish they did the split for 4.0, they could of made SCH similar to the 3 HW jobs you need a level 30 class to unlock it and then it has all of its abilities fleshed out like the others. Im still hopeful its not as bad as it sounds i really am, but at least i have every job to 60 so i can chjose a possible new main, Y.Y
The nerf honestly has me so sick that I've decided to just let SCH go. They gut half of our DPS toolkit and, not to play the jealous brother, GIVE ast more to use, on top of them being duality use for heals.
RIP- Shadowflare on a GCD. You will be missed every thirty seconds and whenever you have a stupid tank.
RIP- Aero. Your weave will not be forgotton.
RIP- Bio. Your weave and your bane spread will be missed.
RIP- Bane. All though you're still in the game, your nerf from loss of bio and diminishing returns has you pretty much dead to me. I'll still use you though, because our aoe is already dead.
RIP- Blizzard II. For a really weak skill on BLM your ice was made of gold to our DPS toolkit.
RIP- Miasma II. I always hated you, but now that Blizzard II is gone, even you would be beautiful.
RIP- Spell Speed Pet Proc. You always got me excited. You're the closest thing to a DPS buff that we had.
RIP- Virus. You were our special heal. The one that could make a rock to the face feel like a significantly smaller rock that even Selene could judo chop in half. Now you're entrusted to Casters, who have zero personal reason to decrease incoming damage if it wouldnt cause a wipe, leaving us, as healers, to heal more.
RIP- Cleric Stance. You were an interesting mechanic in this game. You taught attentiveness and planning. You gave a 10% DPS boost on top of everything. Your cd was very manageable and although people had problems with their fatty fat fat fingers, pressing you at the wrong times and causing wipes, you, yourself, were a great skill. They were undeserving of you higher skill ceiling love.
RIP. Scholar. May those who find your nuetered playstyle enjoyable live their newfound boring roles and those who don't, play RDM.

Irrespective of the nerf, the biggest problem here is that SCHs DPS in 4.0 makes a 2.0 era paladin like a Disgaea game in comparison.
The moment their co healer and the fairy can handle all of the HPS requirements is the moment SCH's gameplay becomes about as boring as imaginable.
Single target situation? 2 dots, oGCD, broil spam.
Aoe target situation? 2 dots, oGCD, broil spam.
I suspect a lot of the top progression SCHs aren't too thrilled with this, mine is already hinting that it's my turn to be the 'off healer' =(

of all the scholar changes the one that surprised me is they didn't even touch dissipation. utterly useless skill. even more so when aethercharges can slash the aetherflow recast.. there's no way anyone should ever run out of stacks...
Aspected benefic is stronger than critlo but Astrologian can't deploy it on the group.
Scholar can.
Yes you can deploy a lucky crit but you can't guarantee a crit, and its not really ideal to fish for one either and its a 2 minute cooldown if you do get that lucky crit. Meanwhile aspected helios is nearly a non critical adlo spread on demand.
Sure yes we still have a crit adlo but you cant really use that as a defense when single target its only saving grace is its heal is slightly more potent and the omg it actually crit moment. Not to mention the mp cost difference.
