To explan further, samurai from 66 to 70 doesnt gain as much. They gain a hard hitting level 70 ability, but its on a long cooldown and cost 50 kenki (which is a ton).
Monks gain Riddle of fire (which is huge) and Brotherhood (which is huge since it has a pretty decent uptime).

And Sam wont gear quite as well as other classes.

I just want to remind people that SE is pretty good about class balancing. You may laugh, but its a ton better than most MMO's. And they have a good mind to keep most classes relevant.
THis same doomsday thought process happened at heavensward, and everyone was pretty happy in the end.

I'm pretty sure it's a bit early to making assumptions on how SAM is with gears caling. No one even knows what our stat priority is yet. While Samurai does have the biggest hits out of all the melee their damage has a consistent flow outside of their charged attacks, not on the level of monks and ninja's in terms of speed but it's up there. Another thing to note, is you're never going to be building up a full kenki gauge in pve unless you want your damage to suffer severely because it means you aren't using any Ogcd's or Kaiten's to empower your attacks, which is a massive dps loss, they def have the highest burst potential with Meikyo Shisui, but they pack quite a bit of consistent damage if you're playing it right. These are just my current thoughts as currently from what i've played at 64.
