Well two weeks out till SB, I can see how some are concerned. Things can change but I don't see any larger overhauls to ease some of the complaints coming. White mage fear is pretty valid imo.

Fine-tuning is one thing; entirely re-thinking the overhaul of [insert job here] is something else again. WHM won't be fixed by a few potency tweaks, to take that job as an example; they need an entirely new ability or three (specifically ones that add Raid utility). New abilities mean new animations, balance testing, etc. It's not something SE is going to get done in two weeks when they've got a million other things to do before Stormblood releases.

So, as others have said - much of the fear on the forums is quite valid at this point. That's especially true given the lack of an official response (to tie this back to the OP's question). I know the information we have has the whole "stuff may change" caveat, but the WHM changes especially are sparking enough complaints that SE would almost surely be addressing them if they indeed already had fixes lined up. The only logical reason for their silence is that they don't have a Plan B, and are going to have to fix it over time (if at all).

Except the problem with WHM is that their entire vision for what WHM should be is erroneous and outdated. Attempting to fix WHM without abandoning that shoddy conception of what a WHM should be is an exercise in futility.

Honestly, though, if that is what you are waiting for to happen it would be better off to just switch classes. Like it or not they want to keep that theme for the white Mage. The trick is getting the bad ideas fixed with maybe a hint of utility. White mages won't see more than that.
