Char name Chaos not allowed?

I wanted to ask the development team or any staff why the system doesn't allow the name for some reason. In 1.0 I had a char with the name Chaos was wondering did something change since 2.0+. Any information would be great thanks.

The name is already in use by someone else on that server? There is also a restriction on certain past FF character names being used as well (like no Clouds or Sephiroths), which resulted in some creative naming for those who want these desired names (given Chaos is a character/enemy from FFI, it's entirely possible this is the case). All you can do is find something else for your character.

The name is not any server if you look at the lodestone it shows Chaos' or Chaosa or something along those lines. I used to have my old account in 1.0 char had the name but since losing info since I was serverving over seas well I started another account. No luck I even called support they have no answer to it first time they heard of it. The phone support told me to post on the forums feed back so thats why I'm asking. Did something happen for the system to prevent that name from being used? I could even name my chocobo chaos like my alt has. I was just curious as to why not characters? In FF1 there are no defualt names for the charcters it was started at FF2 and onwards.

Chaos is the main villian of FFI, so yes it is a default-name there. I'm not sure if thats the reason the name is prohibited now, but its definitly been used in FFI as the name of a character. That your characters dont have default names doesnt matter here, the name of the villian is fixed anyways, as it is in any FF.

Basically certain names are off-limits. Squall, Tifa, Chaos, and so on.

Its a banned name now most likely because its a FF1 final boss its possible in 1.0 it wasn't but even if you could get your old account back it would would force you to name change
