Cash Shop vs In Game: An objective view of Heavensward

There's so many threads about the mog shop right now. And there always has been and most likely will be in the future as well when ever something is added to the mog shop. So I thought I would quickly try list the in game vs cash items released into the game from 3.0 - 3.5 since there is most likely nothing more being added.

But some things to note. I could have gotten some things wrong and misplaced an item in the wrong section also quests that give emotes like Moonlift and such are hard to track. Please correct me if you see something off. Also I started getting lazy towards the end so towards the end I stopped checking say DRG is similar to Tank, etc. Also some stuff are listed together like Youkai, GARO and dungeon gear so I'm not listing a "total" amount for each since it'll require a lot more effort to find the correct amount. Also the spelling will be horrendous as well as the formatting. I'll try make it as clear as I can but we'll see.

Also in "Mog Shop" is also add on stuff like Primmogs for buying an OST and what not. And what's listed will be stuff that are new models, not something like a reskin of 2.X gear or reskin 3.X gear released later on.

The Far Eastern Lord/Lady attire is from China. The Far Eastern Matriarch/Patriarch sets are from Korea.
The Eastern Greeting and Eastern Dance emotes were available first in China, and I think this applies for the Eastern Stretch emote as well (but not sure on that one).
The Doman/Angel/Devil Chocobo bardings are also from China (don't know if you're including the bardings in your lists).
And the Eastern Journey items were part of a 7/11 Promotion in Japan. Same as the Maid/Butler outfits, and I think the Fuga items were as well (but again, not sure on that one).

Could have swore that the Eastern Journey items were part of a 7-11 Promo. I know that the cloud mount was a China original, but I thought I saw a post about 7-11 promos and using points from items bought to get the Eastern Journey items?

Oh, an addition for the OST minions, OP: Wind-Up Dalamud from Before Meteor OST and Wind-Up Bahamut from the ARR OST. Both are out of print now, however, but the codes lasted until December 31, 2015. Also, did you include the Wind-Up Delivery Moogle? Code is still valid.

Other loyalty glamours: Cloud's Advent Children Attire, Wild Rose Attire.
Loyalty minions: Wind-up Cursor, Wind-up Warrior of Light, Wind-up Leader, Wind-up Odin, Wind-up Gilgamesh, Wind-up Goblin, Wind-up Firion.

While these may not be 3.0-3.5 items, there are players that have received them during HW's tenure, so I feel it's important to include them as well.

For In-Game Mounts, don't forget Primal birds/Firebird. Also, there is a red and black ADS mount as well.

Is this supposed to be a defense?

WoW's cash shop is much older than XIV's and much cheaper overall(individual items are more expensive usually, but there are far fewer of them), yet in just the 2 years or so XIV's has been around it has a much larger selection of items.

The pacing of content is about the same as it was in 2.0 so the argument that cash shop items fund development of additional content seems to have no merit(I went through the patch notes for every major content patch last night).

If FFXIV were f2p I would have no problem whatsoever with a cash shop, they do in fact charge a sub and a box price. Yoshi originally stated that the game wasn't built for a cash shop and it wouldn't work in FFXIV. After mogstation, he still likes to brag about the fact that they are a sub-based game.

I only want them to make up their minds, cuz I for one am not gonna pay double my sub for exclusivity and tbh as soon as another game comes along that does something I like, I'm jumping ship if nothing changes.

In my opinion, the game is well balanced in terms of basic vanity items vs cash shop items for now (check TERA or BnS), the moment this is no longer true I will stop playing, is the only power I have as a customer. IMO if you really think your sub is not longer worth it just leave the game and tell them why but complaint while still giving them money hardly works.

I know, I know... "But Driavna, I invested so much time..." MMO's are doom to disappear at one point or another, enjoy while it last and then move on.
