No I'm not running around and then stopping as soon as I press the spell.have you tried it by making sure that the server lag registers you as being still and not still running? no, you didn't because there's no way for you to verify where the server registers your characters position. how many times have you been hit by eruptions or plumes when your computer showed you way out of harms way? what makes you think that the server wasn't registering you still moving when you were "stopped and casting"?
when heals started to cost more we lost players. when spells were taken away we lost players. your point is that even though people don't like things and leave the game they get use to things.
I'm usually STATIONARY when casting spells to begin with, because I have no reason to run around.

my point is until the server lag issues and registering whether someone is moving or not is fixed nobody can know how bad or how well it works out until it goes into effect.
i know, personally, i move alot. it is not always moving while casting, but i am always working towards getting in the best position i can be in. i enjoy the movement. i like it alot more than a system put in place almost 10 years ago. that is not saying that anyone is wrong because they like the other way, but that it is what i prefer.

I never said your opinion is wrong neither. But you have gotten used to the lag now right? I mean I can move back in front of a raptor while he is using his breathe move and it doens't coutn as getting hit. You will get used to that point in time when you know when the server registers that you are not moving.my point is until the server lag issues and registering whether someone is moving or not is fixed nobody can know how bad or how well it works out until it goes into effect.

I say just wait and see how it goes and after people play with it for a while, then we can go on about how bad it is. I still don't think it's a bad idea, and I personally know he isn't going to change his mind with a post that lengthy.

yes, you can dodge attacks by moving, but you do not know when the server registers that you stopped. just because someone can adjust to do something new does not mean that they like it. just because eventually you will be able to time when it registers pretty well does not make it more fun than it is now.
the problem is people use the well you can adjust to this or that, but i hardly ever see the words "man this will be so much more fun". that last statement is what a game should be heading towards and not well you can adjust to this new stuff. i play a game for fun and not to have to adjust to something new being changed every patch. the game should be getting more fun not just having to adjust to a new mechanic every time i turn around.
i can adjust to anything they have put in so far, but that does not mean that i have liked the vast majority of it more than what i had to start with.

But you are still playing am I not right? You must be enjoying the game if you are paying to stay, and if this will change that, I guess you should go?all i am saying is that i don't like it because i enjoy moving.

This game is being changed. We all that are left probably did agree for fundamental changes. I love the new casting animations they gave us. They look stupid as hell though when you are running.
Honestly, running and casting breaks my immersion lol. It doesn't make sense that they can run and not "focus on their hand" like they do while standing still.
We are getting more spells later on too
This is all random gibberish.. but it's 3 in the morning. I'm tired, so will pick up this tomorrow. Miqote out!

i am enjoying the people i play with and waiting on the server merge. if the merge brings my enjoyment level back up i will likely stay all the way til 2.0. right now i am at least staying for the next 3 months. just because i don't like something does not mean that i should leave. as long as the group i play with makes the game worth my monthly fee i will be here. if it weren't for those people i would have left at 1.18 to be honest. But you are still playing am I not right? The reasoning behind running interrupting spellcasting is to keep balance in the game. Yoshi-p wants to make mage classes a high risk class, meaning you can deal a lot of damage, but you risk being KO'd if the enemy comes in mele range. I'm personally not a big fan of mage classes, but it makes absolute sense to have some type of realism when casting magic. As deadriser said it kills the immersion seeing mages run around casting spells like it ain't no thing.i am enjoying the people i play with and waiting on the server merge. if the merge brings my enjoyment level back up i will likely stay all the way til 2.0. right now i am at least staying for the next 3 months. just because i don't like something does not mean that i should leave. as long as the group i play with makes the game worth my monthly fee i will be here. if it weren't for those people i would have left at 1.18 to be honest.
