Right now sure it might be okay since the most damage you will get out of a spell is like 1000-2000 but what happens when they up the tier of these spells and you start casting for 4-5k damage? you simply can just run around kiting monsters to death? The game will be even more boring if THM never gets new spells.

It's practically the same thing. Either way there is a way to prevent being hit, I just like moving more. It keeps me awake, standing around is very lame, I do it enough in Ul'dah.
the difference between those is that when they wake up they chase you again, but you can't use the same spell again. You will eventually get hit.
I doubt you spend the majority of your time casting spells and moving in a party. Unless you have a ton of hate and have to keep healing yourself, I see no other reason you should have to run and cast besides one case in Ifrit or one in DH. That's it
Lol the only time in Ifrit is when you have to run back from eruptions to quickly heal.. but that's why we usually run with two cnj's to make things easier. I don't think it's gonna be as bad as a lot of people are taking it. I've been practicing not running while casting, just takes some getting used to. You do have to remind your party members to not run all over the place so you can reach them, but hey that's what Resonance is for xD

Poeple are gonna get used to it. Remember, the majority said they are ok with fundamental changes to this game. This is one of them.
have you tried it by making sure that the server lag registers you as being still and not still running? no, you didn't because there's no way for you to verify where the server registers your characters position. how many times have you been hit by eruptions or plumes when your computer showed you way out of harms way? what makes you think that the server wasn't registering you still moving when you were "stopped and casting"?Lol the only time in Ifrit is when you have to run back from eruptions to quickly heal.. but that's why we usually run with two cnj's to make things easier. when heals started to cost more we lost players. when spells were taken away we lost players. your point is that even though people don't like things and leave the game they get use to things.

What will be a pain though when this is implemented is raising people. If there are more fights with attacks, like Ifrit's Eruption, in fight sitting there to cast raise is not going to be pleasant.
During the last few minutes of the Ifrit fight he constantly spams Eruption/Lava Plume. Trying to raise without moving is going to get some people killed, and leave others dead for a long time. Now this wouldn't be a problem if the latency issue was taken care of, but it's not yet.
It potentially slow down damage as well. If I can run while avoiding eruption, and casting thunder I can atleast set up a combo dealing damage as I am running. I am not pulling hate/kiting Ifrit the tank still has him. Now I will have to stop every single time to run? That's bull.
Yoshida probably should have added fine print:
"You're ok with fundamental changes as long as it doesn't go against what you personally want." lol
there's no need to explain to some people why you do not like it. they will always go back to the normal fall back of either "learn to play" or "you're doing it wrong" or "it's best for the future". it doesn't matter if you don't like it just because you don't like it(neither do i) because they have to try to make themselves feel better by trying to tell you that your personal preference is wrong.
