    Usually in games where players are more on the move, healers are given instant cast HoT (heal over time) spells that can be cast while moving to keep people topped off. That lets parties continue to be on the move through dungeons and open fields, and gives healers a little wiggle room in a boss fight if they need to move suddenly.

    While we currently don't have anything like this, that may change in 2.0.

    Additionally, according to the class reform list, White Mage will be getting two abilities that will allow for instant cast heals. One will eliminate the cast time of the next spell, the second instantly restores HP of all party members.

    Standard in which MMOs? Western MMOs? Because quite a few of the ones I play moving is actually required for spell casting (especially relocation and "time" spells) because they're designed mostly for PvP play.

    This is why you are one of the few good forum people.

    You already understand what's going on with this game and what will make it better, not just because it's your preference and how OMG IT'S GONNA KILL THE GAME.

    I love the decision. Yeah it'll suck in the beginning but if I remember correctly it sucked when healing cost was changed as well. Then people got used to it.

    If you are in a group as a mage, you shouldn't have or get hate to begin with or you are a bad mage.

    That's the tactic. Enmity control. Only time you should have to run is when an eruption is underneath you during Ifrit. In the moogle fight, you should position yourself better if you can't heal the person that needs to be healed or run with that person.

    Tactics are going to change because the grand scheme of the mage we have now will change. You just won't be able to run and cast. Which looks stupid since you aren't doing any kind of focusing whatsoever on your hand like you are stationary.

    i play solo. tactic is moving out of range flanking, forcing AI to reposition or break off. using terrain. avoiding backing into corners or aggressive MOBs. adds variation.

    Yoshida should talk more about PvP. If the battle mechanics will be shared between the two, and they have to balance both PvP and PvE simultaneously, it's going to be retarded. XI already did better what most MMO's are still struggling with.

    i'm getting a headache over this because it's just so dumb.

    PvP was the only argument in yoshi's post that actually counts.
    interrupting spellcasting BEFORE implementing PvP is just not right lol

    and somehow i think i'm the only one that thought of a compromise,
    that goes along with all of Yoshi's arguments - including PvP:
