Being able to run and cast is much more fun than standing in one spot and casting. It adds a layer of strategy and makes the game a bit more fast paced and exciting for me as a caster. This is one of my favorite parts of casting. I love being able to move around and kite a mob or a group while casting. IT'S FUN.

The benefits to still-casting are......? FFXI players like it?

Can't wait to play Pvp and get mowed over by every DoW while i stand still waiting for my 5-7 seconds spell casts.

It wouldn't even matter if it was. It wouldn't change the fact that the system in place now is fun, and that the change proposed will be less fun.

That's all there is to it. We all know what's its like to stand in one place and cast. It's less fun than being able to move around while casting.

Hmm maybe they should allow casting and moving, as well as give me 15 second spell casts so i can run around while glowing and have fun! I can see it now...o the fun!!

fun? what about running to a safer position while casting? thast how i do it, not sure about you.
not only does it feel so much more fluid to start casting SS while im running to my group of leve mobs, but theres been so many times where ive been able to run away from mobs while casting- have the mobs dissengage- my spell then goes off - i then immediately go right back to fighting them.
its fluid, more fluid then not being able to do either of those.

also take into account the new MMOs that are coming out. both blade and soul and GW 2 have already been praised for their magic casting system by players and other DEVs. Both of those games allow you to not only charge cast while running but also complete the cast while still running.
the new market for MMOs is more action oriented. Yoshi has stated that he does want a strong level of competition to future games and has used these coming up games as examples in past player polls and in interviews.

I knew you were a WoW player... stupid pvpers. This is why it should be left out of this game, or have it's own server. All you pvpers want is to gimp classes so you can beat them in a stupid fight that means nothing. Which leads to gimping a class in PvE.

Glad your not on my server, cause I would go out of my way to make your life a living hell in this game.

Hehe yes I am with you in that regard... I do hope they do not try to balance things around PvP and mess up other parts of the game... Though I do understand that a number of people like PvP and I am not against them having PvP since I think they more game aspects they have the better the game could be...

I would! I have no idea why you would want to be stationary when most other classes run around.

I am convinced you never did a Darkhold run, or you got power leveled and never healed.
