The reasoning behind running interrupting spellcasting is to keep balance in the game. Yoshi-p wants to make mage classes a high risk class, meaning you can deal a lot of damage, but you risk being KO'd if the enemy comes in mele range. I'm personally not a big fan of mage classes, but it makes absolute sense to have some type of realism when casting magic. As deadriser said it kills the immersion seeing mages run around casting spells like it ain't no thing.
i love it when people that doesn't like mage classes and doesn't play them comes in and tells a full time mage how a change will add realism. tell me, when was the last time you stood still or moved and threw a big lightning bolt at a god?
