    You know, I can't believe I didn't realize how good instant interruption would have been in FF11... Now it doesn't sound nearly as bad as I thought, if we can start casting again asap. Even when rest-cancelling in FF11 you had to wait like 2-3 seconds.

    yeah its horrible, how dare they not force me to finish my started spell when ifrit is about to blow me up and just let me run to safety... scandalous!

    The challenge with this change is that the design of the game is for parties and players to be constantly moving. Both DH and Ifrit demand this. This makes curing particularly challenging in that luck suddenly plays a much larger portion of success than skill.

    In order for the change to be productive then the design of past and future content must coincide with the release of the alteration - something that may or may not be feasible.

    I am not opposed to the idea - I am simply stating that the change must also reflect the environment in order to work. If that can be done then no problemo as I dislike the roaming nature of the gameplay and favored the stationary elements of XI.

    I don't get it. His response to move canceling is client side issues about people dying before seeing themselves get hit by an attack?

    My first reaction when I saw there was actually a response from Yoshi-P himself was a happy one.
    But after I read the response, I was left with great confusion about the topic he addressed..maybe it's because the translation was hurried, but I got the feeling he was talking about something totally different which is not really related to the problem at hand..
    Okay, maybe it's bad if stuff is not really synchronized, maybe it's not.

    What does it have to do with people wanting to/not wanting to be able to cast while moving?@_@"

    You can just ignore the first one, it was just a description of what is meant by spellcasting getting cancled by moving (which is something we all already knew) followed by an announcement saying he will explain it in more detail soon...which never happened, because his follow-up post was totally off topic.

    Wait... we just became able to move while casting long spells... now if we move we won't be able to continue to cast long spells yet again?!

    Really, it sounds fairly straightforward.

    You start casting. You move. You stop casting. You stop moving. You can start casting again right away.

    It isn't a Chainspell effect, it's simply them telling you that you can start casting again right away with only the slight delay caused by the typical MMO lag.



    EDIT:

    You could cast while moving, but then you took an arrow to the knee, and must stand still.
