To respond with US, games here range anywhere from $19.99 to $59.99. For just normal editions. Collectors can range even higher. That isn't a baseline; it's a range. And it's a far wider range in the US than it is in Aus.

Perhaps the Mogstation items are overpriced, but a lot of people here tend to not ask for them to be lowered; they ask for them to not be added at all. Or to be added in-game for free. And this is something I take issue with because a lot of the new glamour items (Chinese outfits and the Korean outfit) had to be be bought in their respective countries, but people here demand them basically for free. I don't know if the Fuga items were part of a promotion, but I know the recent Eastern attire were. I don't understand why people are okay with asking for things for free when other players in Japan or China had to pay for them.

This is an important factor. Notice the difference in response when people ask for something to be added to the Mogstation or have already existing items lose their restricts? This is something the devs can take back and convince the corporate side it's worth investing in. On the other hand, when people clamour for everything to be in-game without any cost or one exceedingly low as though it may as well not exist won't convince anyone of anything. People forget that despite all the wonderful platitudes we hear about customer loyalty, video games remain a business first and foremost. Those calling the shots, so to speak, are investors and publishers whose only concern is profit.

So what is our recourse to overpriced items being added to the Mogstation? Simply don't buy them. With enough pushback prices could be lowered or, more likely, a sale comes up. Just don't expect they will suddenly appear in-game for free or that we'll get happy little events gifting us everything.

When an item goes the Mog station, it will never appear again in game, for very obvious reasons.

Who doesn't see the "obvious" part, think at the 20$ item you purchased yesterday and the day after you can get in game in some event. This the reason it never happen.

In Mog station = never again in game.

The only things you can hope for, are the special sales in Mog station, as discounts or pay two take three, and so on.

I really want to point out that most of the items that have been added to the Mogstation recently (examples: Far Eastern Lord/Lady Attire, Far Eastern Matriarch/Patriarch Attire, the Eastern emotes, the Chocobo bardings) are all items that, when released in their respective countries (China, Korea, Japan) all had to be purchased in some way with real currency. Most of these items were part of a promotion, and the players that wanted them had to pay for them. Yet, people on this forum cry about how it's unfair that they have to pay for items that were probably never intended to be released outside of China or Korea or Japan in the first place, but were brought over because of player demand. And because SE knew that the demand was so high, that there would be people who would gladly pay $7 ~ $18 USD for said items.

It really bothers me that every time a new item is added to the cash shop, people cry that it's unfair, and that it should have been added in-game for free. Yet, the items in question, were usually items that players had to pay real money for when they were released in their original countries. I hate to use the word, because it has come close to losing all meaning, but if that's not entitlement, then I don't know what is.

These items were never free in-game items in Japan/China/Korea. Don't expect them to be free in-game items for NA/EU/Aus and other countries. And I think this applies to the Fuga Attire as well; I believe that, it too, was a promotion in Japan. So, naturally, we should be expected to pay for it just like Japanese players were expected to pay.

With regards to the past event items, they were once in-game. And, guess what? Those that were around and did the event got the items for free. Those who were not playing during the event period, have to pay real money for them. Would it be nice for them to be included in an Event Vendor? Sure. But they aren't. And people who already got them for free, why do you care so much if someone else wants to pay $5 USD for it? Or $13 USD for it?

I wish the outfits weren't $18 USD; they could stand to be a little lower. But, what can I do? Not buying them isn't going to make SE magically lower the price just because I refuse to purchase them. And I could possibly wait for them to go on sale, but there's no guarantee that they will. I had an extra buck to spend, so I bought the outfit. Doesn't stop me from getting my monthly bills and costs of living covered. And it just really irks me that people here try to make those that buy from the Mogstation out to be terrible people.

It really bothers me, that some people feel the need to tell others they need to accept these overpriced items because they are optional. Seeing your other post, do you think the the mog station prices are overpriced? If not why? When you say "And it just really irks me that people here try to make those that buy from the Mogstation out to be terrible people. " What about those that are attacking people that think the price is too high, such why this thread is made? You can have a point of view without attacking people?

Did you ever think it would be nice if people did their part not to buy the overpriced items so they will not be overpriced anymore? I do not care how nice something looks, I do not need overpriced digital add-ons that is one per character.

Yeah, having a SMN270, SCH 268, all 60 crafts and gathering is just so I can post more on the forums.. sure. (paying for 6 retainers is an account, fyi) That is a hint, what motivated me to do so, along with breaking the specialty issue, just like other hard core crafters, acting like I am the only one that does this is just =.=

Since there are so many of these threads, and I can't remember which one I posted my opinion of the pricing in, allow me to just repeat it: I think they could stand to not be so expensive. However, I don't really spend a lot of money on items, and, at the end of the day, this game and everything it entails (yes, even those expensive glamour items) are one of the things that I find enjoyable. The enjoyableness makes the items worth the cost to me. Because lately, my life has been filled with a lot of unenjoyable things, so if I want to splurge in something that is enjoyable, why not?

I'm not attacking anyone. I'm just saying that it's irksome reading all these people attacking those who want to buy from the Mogstation, and who act like the equivalent of doing so is like kicking a puppy. I don't think there's any reason for anyone to attack anyone. However, people get defensive when they're being attacked, and go on the offensive. That's human nature. I can't stop it. All I can do is ignore it. However, it becomes hard to do when I come on here and the New Post page is flooded with thread after thread about how terrible the cash shop and all those who support it are.

Did you ever think it would be nice if people did their part not to buy the overpriced items so they will not be overpriced anymore? I do not care how nice something looks, I do not need overpriced digital add-ons that is one per character.
Okay. That's fine if you don't need it. But some want it. Don't make them out to be awful people because they want to splurge. If you don't need it, why do you keep arguing with people that want to buy it? Why do you care so much what others do with their money? Does it affect you that much? Do you lose sleep over it? Why continue to argue?

Would it be nice if they were cheaper? Yes. Would it be nice if they were account-wide? Of course. Would it be like Christmas coming early if they were available in-game for free? Absolutely! But, the fact of the matter is, is that they are not. And SE is a business. Businesses know that there are people out there who will pay a lot of money for shinies. And I'm not talking about just SE here: they know this, so they provide the shinies. Because shinies for buyers means $$$ for the businesses. And that's just the way it is. For this to change would have to mean a very widespread boycott over several different types of shinies, not just digital content. Something that is very unlikely to happen, given how vain and how want-y (didn't really want to use "needy" here) human beings can be.

You're entitled to your opinion, but constantly arguing with people over it gets tiresome, don't you think? Trust me, I like debates. I debate frequently with a lot of people. But eventually, I get tired of repeating myself, so I just let it rest. At the end of the day, I cannot expect to change anyone's mind, or force people to agree with me.

Have your opinions. State them. Stand by them. But please. You don't have to shove them down everyone's throat, and reach post cap on two separate accounts just to continue arguing about them. And I'm saying this in the most polite way I can.

Where are people attacking those that buy from the mog station? The only thing I see is people attacking those that disagree with the pricing "it is optional live with it" Making this thread to mock those that disagree with it, and making it obvious while doing so.. is not an issue to you? It does not bother you some people would like to have it and like your self would make them happier but it is too much for NO REASON?!?!?!?!?

Does not matter if SE is a business, with what they do to the pricing and how they handle inventory, it is a shady one at best. Why is my sub doubled for making up for a shortcoming of the game and have overpriced glams on top of it? Do you realize how high the cost is for retainers? on legacy for 6 months the retainers cost more then the sub itself.

    https://youtu.be/WXA559KNopI?t=110

We are overpaying for items on a sub model!!! on top of renting space. If SE wants high short term gains but huge backlash in the long run, well that is a good way to ruin a business in the long run now isn't it?

    https://youtu.be/FwI0u9L4R8U?t=165

If SE keeps going for the whales, it will not hold for the future, people will remember the resentment they felt when overpaying say now but in the future say maybe a future MNO by SE and not return.

Same can be said to you and the TC, " Have your opinions. State them. Stand by them. But please. You don't have to shove them down everyone's throat, and reach post cap on two separate accounts just to continue arguing about them. And I'm saying this in the most polite way I can. " That is exactly what I see when people make revenge threads like this, shoving opinions down people's throat and using the "SE is a business" to do so and the "they are not needed so it is ok to overprice them, I can afford them you can't hahaha"

I am not using 2 accounts for this matter, this is another attack by you on me (and kind of insulting since I was trying to help you in that DF story thread) I ran out of allowances trying to figure out why someone wants to be instant on that you need pure healing in this game when they can't experience anything from being i190. Who is shoving whos opinion down a throat again?
