For all the FF logic complaints, I have to say:
Efficient & fun MMO > FF nostalgia.

I'm not concerned about this at all.
They have been streamlining this game for quite some time now. I've expressed my concern but the majority is against me.
Is it too much to ask for some FF tradition? Nobody gets hurts and it's just nice to see they have not forgetting their old games.
Airships, Moogles, Chocobos, FFXI Races, Classic Job Names, Primals (Ifrit, Titan, Leviathan, Garuda, etc.), Magitek Armor, "Materia" system...I'm not concerned about this at all.

Yea, that one ability name definitely tips the scales.
Those things of which he mentioned, and essentially all recurring names in a series are called paying homage. This ISN'T FF6, or 7, or any other game, it's 14. If they want to use something preexisting, neat. If they want to do things differently, GOOD! Better even. If you want to play reincarnations of games you already know, go play them.
