Stormblood disc version help!

Hey everyone!
I dont know if i am on the right place to ask this question, but i hope i am.
Anyway i have digital ps4 versions of a realm reborn and heavensward, and now i am planning on buying boxed disc edition of stormblood... now my question is very simple, when install game and all to my ps4 will i need to use that disc to play ff xiv from now on or will my game will still be able to be played from hard disk without needing to use stormblood cd?

You would need the disc since you plan to use it to get Stormblood.

As far as I know if you install the game using the CD you will need to disk to keep playing, if you have early access you should download the game before your disk turns up (at least that is how Heavansward worked for me). I think there a way round needed the disk anyway as I think there is a way to uninstall and then redownload the game without using the disk, hopefully someone who has done that can explain that better though

That's correct. As long as you have the digital version of FFXIV:ARR you can purchase both digital and physical copies of the expansions.
The physical disk will need to be installed as normal and you may need to use an activation code when required but once installed you will no longer need the disc inserted to play. Hope this helps!

To continue on this issue, what happens if the disc doesn't arrive on the 20th and you're unable to register the code on it? Are you unable to continue playing after the 20th?

If the game is preordered, you should have received a code to redeem for early access but if by chance your delivery comes late i'm afraid you won't be able to access the game until it arrives as your activation is packaged within the box.

I do have the early access code but I'm not sure I'll be home to receive the package on the 20th so what you're saying is that I'll be able to play from the 16th to the 20th and then have to wait for the package... sucks

I think I remember seeing something like a few days extra for such occasions around Heavensward, but I haven't it for Stormblood

Yeah that's right. Atleast you're still granted the early access privilege. Though if you were able to play the game beyond the scheduled early access times, I believe they would have included this information in the early access/preorder FAQ post. I doubt it will be possible.

Where did you place your order? Most online retailers deliver their game orders without being signed for. If this is the case you shouldn't have to worry about missing it.

For ARR and HW, the early access codes allowed us to play longer than until official release: about un til the weekend after release. So do not worry much if you did not receive your code on the 20th.

My understanding is as long you have EA code entered client will download the patch and you ahve to use your reg code when you get it in order to continue play in SB areas.
