my critique comes from a place of love though :P as in I used to love it, then i used to think it was ok...then i thought it was meh, then i was like "wtf is this" to "world of diablocraft huh? w/e sure some ppl will like it im out" :P Still, i get it wow is still very generous to its raiders in the long run (won't go into why i think the world firsts raiders drop like flies now :P ), but "overall" development in a breath of content vs time, wow even to the point I played to in legion, leaves much to be desired. FF14 has delivered things I like, things i dislike, but has always been consistent with giving me something per patch when wow has left me way too often wanting anything outta them.
Simply because you clearly chose to do encounters on easy difficulties doesn't mean that they're loot pinatas. Also having raids with 18 bosses, for the sake of just having alot of loot pinatas is overall as inspired as the rest of their development. (even now with legion) I personally really liked WotLK for example and even during icecrown, many of those bosses were blatant filler. I won't even go over bosses in WoD and emerald nightmare for no other reason that i don't even remember them lol.
And please, don't even bring that phrase up when we're playing a game where the only difficult content comes in tiers of 4 bosses 3 times an expansion and every other boss is either a complete LFR-style pushover or a new single boss trial that gets killed by a random pug after an hour of trying. Seriously, get real.
you are right i didn't do the cutting edge on wow, i also don't do the cutting edge on ff 14 :P Difference is that in ff 14 I continue to have things to do and in wow i just had AP grinds or quit, so i left. This is a recurring fight in the wow community too, where the fanboi defense to this date is "there is alot to do you don't do" vs those that say they do not enjoy what is available. There is a world of difference between breath of content and quantity.Simply because you clearly chose to do encounters on easy difficulties doesn't mean that they're loot pinatas.

You forgot fishing.Simply because you clearly chose to do encounters on easy difficulties doesn't mean that they're loot pinatas.

I bought a car! Therefore all my gas should be free!
If you wanna go that route.
If SE was a mechanic shop, they would be the only shop in your country. You bring in your car to have it fixed and they tac on an extra charge of charging you for storing the parts needed to repair the car. Then they would or could paint it for a cheap price but you have to come back every week to get it repainted.
When you have a cash shop, you suddenly have a conflict of interest. For every item made, person hired, or unit of time spent on development, there will always be some bean counter that's asking "can we allocate this to the cash shop?" thus removing content from the game that we payed for through subscription.
The only things that should be in the cash shop are administrative things (race change, name change, etc), and things you can acquire in game (old event items). That at least encourages the devs to make cool event items, in hopes of selling them when the event is over.
The tiniest lala.
You guys really cant get over this can you? There are dozens of threads regarding the cash shop, but the simple fact remains, its all vanity items and SE can charge what they want for that. It doesnt break the game to have added cash shop items and If you think about it, its already cheaper or on par with other cash shop/microtransactions. You also know exactly what its going to cost you and you will get exactly what u paid for unlike loot chests like in Overwatch, etc.
ESO has a cash shop, and I see costumes there going for 5-$10. Their mounts cost anywhere from $9-$40. Blizzard's Shop, a minion for $10, mounts for $25. Square Enix is not doing anything differently that other MMO companies aren't.

There's nothing for players to discuss except to whine that they want it cheaper or free. Well guess what, SE is a business and they can charge for added services like any other business. They clearly are not going to stop doing something that generates them profit and also keeps this game going. Enough whining already. Either buy it or don't. Its as simple as that.
