Does it really? The Garo event released 6-7 wholly unique outfits, thirteen new weapons and three new mounts. As per usual, we had full crafted, Shire and raid gear released with 3.4. The only unique outfits on the Mogstation are the three that were never intended for a full release to begin with. So let's not pretend we get absolutely nothing here.

Of course we get something, that we pay extra for and had development resources diverted to make. It might be true at this point that they have a dedicated team just for mogstation items, but those artists etc. could be making items for everyone to be included with the sub-fee. What SE is actually peddling is exclusivity.

Welcome to literally every publishing studio in the industry. This is not unique to FFXIV nor Square Enix. They all do it to offset the staggering costs of game development. None of the items on the Mogstation would be in the game if it didn't exist. They are made exclusively for profit. That's how micro-transactions work.
