But so far, all things that have been designed for the cash shop has been fluff items. I'd understand if SE went for items that provide a deliberate advantage over others like a generic f2p game does but they have not.

It's fine to complain about pricing. Heck my personal gripe is the amount of things being sold at a price by previous comparisons but minding what others do with their money is not only a fruitless endeavor but a self-harming behavior at that too.
