Odin's horse and the red/white magitek armor would not exist without the cash shop? the white magitek armor ridden by a boss in the first 8 man dungeon in the game, yeah okay, whatever you say ...
It'd still cost dev time to code as a player mount. Time they weren't otherwise willing to pay for without the existence of the Mog Shop team.
There is a budget entirely independent of the primary development team exclusively for making the Mog Station items. They have to vet each one internally over whether or not it's profitable.
That's not even going into the fact that a huge chunk of the more recent (and expensive) cash shop items are imported from the Korean/Chinese versions of the game in the first place, so the pricing structure has to stay the same or Korean/Chinese players will throw a shit fit just like you all are doing right now.
Words to live by.Expecting everybody to play the game the way you do is not a way to foster a pleasant experience for anybody.
But it was already a player mount. They just did a color change to the skin unless there was some detailing I missed that makes the model, animations or something different? (Honest question I didn't look that closely at it)
oh yeah, it's not like they had a black one they could recolor or anything. please, if that takes massive dev time they need to go back to take coding lessons when you already have the framework and the color palette.
Unless you work in graphic design or assets yourself stop talking out of your ass. Fucking armchair game devs.

I have enough programming experience to know how easy that is. If it's not they did it really poorly. Just because I make more money at my current job doesn't mean I'm talking out of my ass.
Yeah, because in programming structure any object can just be turned into a mount without any work what so ever right?
