The first glance of the combo

2 days left until patch so I might as well bring up something to do while waitting. And

    Hurray for 1.20 patch note

Not only will a successful combo grant you the bonus indicated; TP cost will also be waived for the weaponskill used to execute it.
after that I take a peak into the skill list at here

    1 of the PUG combo:

(Blindside) -> Pounce -> Demolish -> Howling Fist

    Pounce : 1500 TP
    Demolish: 1500 TP
    Howling Fist: 3000 TP

From what I understand the explain at 1.20 Patch Note

To active Howling Fist as combo, I need to active Demolish after Pounce.

    The TP required will be:

    Pounce: 1500 TP
    Demolish: 750 TP
    Howling Fist 1500 TP

    total : 3750 TP

    The question is:

Will we execute combo this way ?: Pounce->Demolish->normal hit for TP gain-> Howling Fist ?

ps: this is only a fun discuss, no need to be serious, this is theory craft before test the patch so come and join

edit: crap s mistake from my part, it is waived , make a thread for nothing

That's what it looks like to me. First weaponskill use has tp loss; next skill used as combo, no tp loss.

That's correct every WS after the initial if executed properly will be free of TP cost.

I'm guessing you'll need enough TP to actually execute the combos, but it just won't consume TP on the latter WS. (If that makes any sense..)

    Take your example:

    Pounce: 1500 TP
    Demolish: 750 TP
    Howling Fist 1500 TP

To execute Pounce > Demolish you'll need 2250 TP stored, but will only consume 1500 TP.
To execute Pounce > Demolish > Howling Fist you'll need 3000 TP stored, but again it would only consume 1500 TP.

You'll use the first 1500 TP in either case, but you'll need to have enough TP remaining to be able to execute the remaining WSs, even though they won't actually consume the TP.

Pretty easy to confirm this (kinda) by adding the TP of the first attack with the TP of any additional attack individually.

Edit: Hmm, maybe this isn't the case. I didn't even bother looking at the actual list when posting earlier and missed the part where you thought it said halved instead of waived. Looks like we'll only need enough TP to perform the first WS considering Howling Fist is a closing WS and requires 3000TP to use.

Yeah it looks like we will only need the TP to execute the first skill, then we get a timer (that flashy looking circle) to execute next skill and so on, without TP cost.

The TP cost on those skills refer to the cost needed to execute them separately

Does this apply to the MP costs of spell combos also? And is the correct combo order Fire -> Fire -> Firaga, or Firaga -> Fira -> Fire (I had trouble understanding the wording)...

It's Fire -> Fira -> Firaga, and I'm not sure about the MP cost bit. I imagine the MP cost is probably kept the same, though, because otherwise Thaumaturges would only ever really use MP from tier 1 spells, which would mean those would have ridiculously high MP costs if they want Thaums to worry about MP. Besides, the combo bonuses for Fira and Firaga (the reduced recast timers) seem pretty legit on their own.

I'm confused about another thing... Why do Traits have a recast time (in most cases of 5 seconds...) I thought traits were passive and always active...?

Probably so that you regen MP at set periods of time, and for atk+ etc, they will activate every 5sec, run out, reactivate -> permanent duration.

    It's a bit confusing, i admit.
