Certain crafting skills are inactive when bound to a shared hotbar

Dear Square-Enix,

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read this post. I have come across what i feel is a problem or bug in the system. Since i was not sure how to classify it i will post it in the bugs section hoping it gets seen more often. Now to the problem at hand.



In this picture of my character i will draw your attention to the lower left corner on hotbar 6. There you will notice 3 skills are inactive, "Steady Hands II", "Inner Quiet", and "Great Strides". As i am sure you are aware that two of these skills are main skills learned across all crafting classes and "Steady Hands II" is a cross class ability. "Inner Quiet" is learned at level 11, "Great Strides" is learned at 21, and "steady Hands II" is leaned by Culinarian at level 37.



In the picture I would like to draw your attention to the bottom middle where my characters level is. As you can see its level "53", which is above the necessary level to perform all actions. While i was looking into why this was happening i found out it is due to it being bound specifically hotbars that are shared and not on the main four. It was also found that this comes up as soon as you log into the game every time. So when you apply these skills with the "P" command, which is the actions menu and you drag the icons to the designated spots on the shared hotbar this problem goes away until you log out and and log back in again. I have asked my fellow free company to test if this is a common problem for only pc users but it turns out both ps4 and pc will have this same issue.

The issue is not with the shared hotbar, but rather with the fact that the skills are not shared. There are 8 different versions of most crafting skills in the game, one for each class. If you look at the tooltip for the actions you're experiencing this issue with, you'll find that it says it's only usable by a single class.

From what I can tell you don't understand my problem. The issue is not with the access i have to each of the skills. Probably due to me not showing my levels you cant see what my class levels are to be able to understand that i have access to all crafting skills up to level 55 on all crafting classes. If you look at the second image you can see on the lower left side i have two of the skills I designated are on two different hotbars. "Inner quiet" and "Great Strides" are skills i can learn at a much lower level and are learned on all crafter classes at the same level. So, why is it that the same skills on hotbar 6 don't work but the one's on hotbar 2 work just fine. this is the same setup I have for all crafter classes, so there is no difference in ability, and the levels don't vary too much since they are all over level 50 which i designated earlier is high enough to have access to all basic skills such as the two that i mentioned.

The reason the ones on hotbar 2 work, is because they are the version for the class you are currently using. The ones you put on shared hotbars only work for the class you were on when you added them to the hotbar. The CRP version of Inner Quiet doesn't work on BSM. You cannot put them on a shared hotbar between all crafters, because each crafter has their own version of the skill.

As I said: Look at the tooltip, and pay attention to what class it says the skill is for. That should make it clear what I'm saying.

Gonna agree with that. Every class learns those skills, so you need to be sure you're using the equipped class's skills. So putting these skills on a shared hotbar won't really work, as you'd need all 8 versions for every crafting class. Shared hotbars are better suited for skills picked exclusively out of the cross-class skills list for crafters, I would think.

Even though most of the skills crafters share are the same (such as Inner Quiet and Great Strides), the game considers the skills different for each DoH class. Example: LTW has Great Strides, and WVR has Great Strides, but the game identifies LTW Great Strides and WVR Great Strides as two separate skills. If you placed WVR Great Strides on a shared hotbar, it will not work for LTW. And visa-versa. Same apples for all the other basic crafting skills. Just look how each Basic Synthesis has a different icon depending on the crafting class you're using. That's because, technically, they're different skills.
