IJS. Namco did it for PS3. I'm not saying it wouldn't be costly nor am I saying it would be easy for SE to implement it. (Although a small part of me snickers at SE's "cutting edge pure hair technology" when they are technically 10 years late to the party.)
PS3 video uses the same system than FFXIV to "fake" physics. It works because her hair is designed to interact with her outfits (SE do the same for important NPC with exclusive looks), the moment you put another one will clip like a champ.

Anyway, my point is: SE is not willing to invest the money necessary to release long hairs without clipping, but current engine can do it.

I want feminine stuff, catering to female chars. Give me more long, feminine hair styles.
Give me more fancy feminine caster robes/dresses etc.

To hell with this "equality". It's limiting my options.

And many of my guy friends HATE how half of their options are too girly.

Honestly, I'm willing to bet that a big part of the community dislikes this kinda somewhat Unisex SE is pulling there.

The most ironic part? Youre thanking them for bringing equality when in reality, its SE trying to safe time by not having to double their work by designing stuff for each gender separately.
Yes, equality is limiting your options... When you are repeatedly beeing forced into a version of an armor you have no interest in...

Unisex or not, it's better than seeing one thing and being forced into another.

I said it is limiting MY options.

Its a statement for MYSELF and I do disagree with your statement that its better than being "forced" into a version you dont like.

Because for me that Unisex version is being forced into something I dont like.

Yes, it does limit MY options because a lot of options arent viable for me when I dont like the aesthetics of it. And when you look at the amount of likes my comment has gotten, it
seems like theres a bunch of people agreeing with me.

About half the options we got recently DID cater to female chars. They were made specifically for female chars and were ported over from another game. And if they were made specifically for females in that game, hell yes I can assure you their style would also be used in this game when catering to female chars because they were made for females to begin with.

I've said it in another thread and I'll gladly say it again: We did not get any options meant to be neutral yet. We got options made for females and options made for males all made available for everyone. Full stop.

Anyone who's still going on about the neutral style is a drooling idiot who doesn't know the facts. We don't even have a neutral style yet, we're going 50:50 with styles catering to males and styles made for females. All they do now is to take what they made for one gender and adjust it for the other, which is only the adjustment part in the creation process of model creation, texture creation, tuning of shaders and maps, adjustment and animation. Big whoop.

Theres nothing OVERLY feminine and sexy and theres nothing overly masculine.

Thats why casters usually get these loosely cut unisex robes... theres no tight-fitting,nice caster dresses catering to females with some sex appeal.

Thats why theres no bare-chest armors for guys other than some male-only lvl 1 glams.

Theyre overall...SOMEWHAT neutral because they cant cater it completely to one gender only when its meant to be used by both genders.

    Hence why I said:

Baseline: its not completely neutral, but its not completely gender-specific like you claim it is, either. Its gear that either has a more feminine or more masculine touch to it,
its not completely catered to one gender. Or else our gear would look quite different as there would be a lot more options.

Yeah, Cinques hairstyle is so neutral with those frilly locks (that's about as girly feminine as you can get!). And Queens as well. Those are overly feminine and that didn't stop them from making them available to men just in case (though they did make adjustments to the locks). Same goes for that short side-shaved cut we'll get in SB, which is overly masculine for sure.

No, making things available to both genders does not stop them from making overly feminine or overly masculine things. It'll just look odd on the other gender and that's okay. You don't have to wear it.

They aren't pulling some kinda unisex thing, they simply aren't catering enough to what you want. And it's okay to ask them to cater some more to you and ask for some hip-long hairstyles, sideshaves, latex catsuits or whatever the heck your heart desires, but gods damn, leave sex and gender out of it. It's really starting to get on my nerves.

I cant follow you on your hairstyle examples, im not familiar with all these FF games and the characters' names.

As for the rest: We can agree to disagree. Because I certainly dont agree with you.

And the actual silly part is to NOT consider gender when it comes to hair styles and glams. I hate this unisex sh*t.
Genders arent made equally..and that GREATLY shows in things like clothing and style. Period.
Dont care if you find it annoying or not, i find this whole over-the-top equality thing annoying.

Its ok if some girls wanna be tomboyish, but they have plenty of options for that already.

I mean, sure, tastes differ and all but there's not exactly a shortage of people who conform to traditional values where hairstyles are concerned. It'd be nice, then, to see more of them designed specifically with each gender in mind - since otherwise we end up getting quite a few that are available to both genders but ultimately only really work well on one particular gender. A great example is the MNK hairstyle set to be released in 4.0 and some of the overly feminine Type-0 hairstyles that look pretty awful on male characters in the eyes of the majority.
